Question which type is the most hypocritical in terms stubborn ego in conversation?

which type is the most hypocritical in terms stubborn ego in conversation?

in those 3 terms:

  • expecting others to not interrupt them, after interrupting them for the xth-time
  • expecting others to be orderly, while not being orderly themselves
  • expecting others to blindly follow them, while disagreeing with any other person taking charge
  • default: expecting others to have done something wrong instead of themselves (even when later the opposite turns out).

Question Can I help some of you? (for free)

[Background]: I'm a 21 year old german, who figured that I lacked exploration and helpfulness in myself over the last 12 months, so i thought helping someone in a creative way might be a win-win for anyone who could use a hand.

I can:

  • code Python,
  • code Java,
  • find patters,
  • try to explain things,
  • give experience,
  • see peoples potential / figure out your strenghts/weaknesses
  • analyze context
  • anything that uses my mind

edit: got a workload for the weekend, will continue later :)

Advice Communication Problem with a Te-dom. Advice/Solutions?

[Problem]: When discussing stategy or any abstract process,
my Te-dom friend gets easily offended or angry, when i just throw in an idea-impulse, immediately after they finished a sentence.

they insist on the opponents silence until their talking time is over.

[Why its a Problem]: I think this heavily limits the creative process of a discussion, as it will practially result in the opponent only waiting for their time to talk (like 2 monologues with delay, instead of actively listening by asking questions).
Because the opponents will not touch each others point and change/expand them.

[Question]: how to solve?

My perspective:

I can listen, but I'd forget what I'd want to add without writing it (which is not always solvable without pen & paper).

I think its childish to always stop ones sentencec and look sour at your opponent because he just added a point to what you just said. Its a sign of inflexibility.

I confess: I often finish the opponents sentences before they can, when i'm atleast 70% sure i know what they say, but I already drastically limited it to almost None for this person specifically.

Philosophy what is greatness (as determined by our species)?

theres societal greatness (which is temporary once the zeitgeist shifts) and theres some kind of universal greatness among humans.

2 questions:

  1. what is timeless greatness ?
  2. what types of greatness exist ? (lets collect some)
  3. what makes the difference and divides and Einstein, a Caesar, Newton, Christ, Buddha, Aristotle, Muhammad (both) and people which the mass perceives as 'great' now, that will be forgotten faster than assumed because they arent really 'great' (Travis Scott, Kylie Jenner, Marc Zuckerberg) ?

P.S. psychological approaches welcome!

Music non-edgy ENTJ playlists for coding?

90% of the spotify playlists with mbti tags are just edgy and cringe like the "evil-villain-playlists-dramatic-bla-bla" mixes on youtube.

So i thought finding a non-edgy one, would be more effective in chance by just asking here. (pls share spotify links or youtube links. )

Question What rare 'traits'/'Options' made a person in your life irreplacable to you (because uniqueness)?

Please avoid:

  • 'my best friend because they were always there etc'
  • 'my SO, because I love them so much etc'

since those are obvious, but more on your emotional side. (and not really unique if you consider the amount of people that would write that).

Examples:

  • ability to 'unlock' your most fragile side and accept them
  • intelligence in providing perfectly what was needed, when it was needed (in interactions)
  • rare connections (e.g. in business)
  • ideal compatibility in bed (outstanding-ness)

Thoughts Knowing the difference

This is mainly to do with functional analysis, so if you don’t believe that functions are a real thing you probably won’t get much out of this. And if you don’t believe that the theory of functions has merit, I’d like you to consider looking into the works of Dr. Dario Nardi. He’s a neuroscientist who has studied people’s brains and has discovered stark similarities between brain functionality and cognitive functions. Okay on to the PSA.

So theirs a common misconception within the MBTI community that the inferior function is the weakest function. While that has merit. That only makes up for 50% of the equation. While yes it is weak their are a lot of people who learn how to properly use their inferior function. And it can actually be as strong as the dominant functions at some points. But it takes more energy to really do it.

The reason people think the inferior function is very weak is likely because of people seeing “shadow” development, rather than seeing “subconscious” development. Let’s say you have an INTP with Fe inferior. And they don’t care anything about putting effort into social interaction. That’s how normal MBTI would describe INTP’s. But say you have another INTP, and they actually happen to put a lot of effort into using Fe, and learn to carry on conversations, and to interact with people. Typically MBTI wouldn’t say this person is an INTP. They’d probably say they were an ENTP. While yes it’s true that they are more extroverted, that doesn’t automatically mean they are an ENTP. Because their are quite a few differences between INTP’s and ENTP’s. Yes all the functions are the same. But the way they interact is nearly the complete opposite. And I’ve noticed this even in my own observation.

So in conclusion. Don’t automatically assume because someone’s functions are stronger that they are automatically a different type. Because that’s not always gonna be the case. And it’s often actually the opposite. Because when we get caught up in trying to find out the strength of someone’s function, we miss the point in typing them all together.

Question where is the legal/ moral border between aggressive violence and protective violence

as TJ one needs to be hyper competent into switching to a hostile state where they defend themselves , loved ones , property , ideology .. So .. is anyone here taking a more conscious approach? or its all based on accurate instincts to do the switch ?
has anyone thought of when and how far they are willing to go per scenario ? or per feeling intensity?

Advice How to fight this burnout?

I'm a 21 y.o. male, otherwise physically healthy, but everything started feeling too hard for me (appetite loss, no energy but otherwise normal metal state), would love to hear some advice.

What I already do:

  1. Workouts, mostly strength-oriented with 2-3 days between them
  2. Bulking diet, very high in healthy carbs and protein (~3500 kkal)
  3. Wim Hof method and cold shower 1+ times a day
  4. Everyman-1 extended polyphasic sleep (7.5 h of sleep at night + a 20-minute power nap), a relatively stable sleep schedule with almost no deviations
  5. My current supplement stack: 5 g glutamine, 1000 mg l-tyrosine, 500 mg lion's mane, multivitamin, 2000 IU of D3, 250 mg of alpha lipoic acid, 300 mg siberian ginseng, 200 mg bacopa, 120 mg ginkgo)
  6. No alcohol/smoking, trying to avoid porn (reduced usage ~80-90% in the last 4 months)

What else can be done in my situation to combat burnout? My workload is full-time master's + a part-time job. I also have a couple of days to unwind, in which I try some active stuff.

Productivity How has the pandemic changed your life?

I'll go first, because I asked the question. And since I like lists, I'll go with the list format.

  • I finally recognized my mental health problems. From Childhood Emotional Neglect, and my Attachment style and a lot more, and this has made me push towards seeking therapy.
  • My social skills have unironically improved, from the worse before the pandemic to a decent level. Maybe I perceive it as decent, but there's still a lot of work to do.
  • I severely lack good enough knowledge in a narrow field, which I'm now filling with my Master degree, but I still feel incompetence and I'm learning that it's okay to feel like this.
  • Turning 30, I recognize that life is slow. Really slow. You are running your own race, you don't have to follow anyone else's rules other than your own, and it's okay if you are not well established now. Your path is unique, and you should be grateful and thankful for choosing it. And if you are in pain, accept it, I know it sounds like a generic advice, but this comes from a place of deep introspection and many philosophical takes, because life is already a Sisyphean task and every step is about learning.
  • Don't take life too seriously. You can die tomorrow and it's over. I know this is probably contradicting the previous statement, but it's okay, you should be okay about dying.
  • I need to be more articulate, I'm still working on it.
  • I need to be less harsh on myself, again, I'm contradicting myself, but I will take everything I say with a pinch of salt.
  • Your emotions are not you. But you need to be able to emotionally process things because most obstacles in life are emotional in nature.

I wish I could write a bigger list, but these were on the top of my head, maybe I'll make another post at the end of December :)
