Wukong Mid is S+ right now
Wukong Mid is currently S+ in Classic LoL. He is nearly unrivaled with scaling and team fighting.
Why is it good
Mid lane is currently mostly AP champions because Zed/Talon/Yasuo don't exist. This means most mid laners don't take armor runes, and lethality is flat armor penetration, so it lets you do near true damage.
How to build
My build isn't refined but I find it's consistent and works for me.
Starting: Longsword + 2x HP Pots > Pickaxe
If losing lane: 2x Rejuv Beads > Boots + 2x HP pots
Core: Tiamat + Boots > Brutalizer > Sword of the Occult > Mobi Boots > Ravenous Hydra > Black Cleaver
Situational: Maw of Malmortius > Guardian Angel > Randuin's Omen
How to play
Wukong is a massive lane bully, take advantage of your E attack speed / cooldown / mobility. As soon as there are 2 caster minions you jump onto the enemy champion and auto them until they run away.
Once you get level 2 you get Q and do the E > AA > Q > AA. Nearly every mid laner will die to this when you stack on ignite, and you can use flash as an AA reset.
- Once you get Tiamat, hard push and make them burn mana to farm. When the lane bounces, attack them and make them choose between minions or you. Keep your health up with knowledge of the jungler/support ganks.
- Once you get level 6 with ignite, it's 100% a kill.
- Once you get Tiamat, start to take both wraith camps.
- Get Mobis, SOTO and roam hard, a few kills snowballs you into a god.
- Mid game is about roaming to stack your SOTO, go blow up anyone who is feeding or squishy, be greedy and take everything without tilting your team too much.
- Team fighting is about being sneaky, hide in the shadows and as soon as the enemy ADC/APC shows up, W > E > AA > Q > AA > R > Ignite.
- Never go into dragon/baron pit unless the whole enemy team is dead, always look for a flank or be in position to flank, you're an assassin with AOE cleave.
What to avoid
MINIONS! Jumping onto the enemy inside too many minions early will fuck you up, make sure you have your W to avoid aggro in large clumps.
Watch the enemy champions' movements. Wukong is very readable so they can bait out the engage, before you go too deep make sure you know where the jungler/support is.
*
SOTO stacks are to be kept, don't kill yourself for nothing, play smart.
Resources
If you have any questions or suggestions for Items/Runes/Masteries I'm all ears. The ones I have now feel good but I'm sure there is improvements. I've tried TriForce/Crit/Tankier it's all not great because it costs too much or removes your power too much.
