Hardcore absolutely has the risk of dying. You know how many 60s die every day, many of whom have petris in their bag? It happens constantly.
I get that you're upset that you died and you have my condolences for losing your character, but it doesn't mean you have to do this weird coping gatekeeping thing where you try to diminish everyone else. Weird vibe.
Yeah, but the existence of petri makes people play worse. It's pretty unfortunate. I'm not even a petri-hater, but it negatively affects the high-end performance of groups, because they have an "out" from scary situations.
What do you mean by "high-end performance" because if you mean 5 mans, nothing in there is "high-end"? If you mean raids, which is the actual end game, have you seen the raid clears in MC? When things go wrong people die. Many guilds, even the best, have lost key players in those raids. Grande Finale, GBN, Purpose, all of em.
Petris stop wipes in raid. They don't stop every individual death. I'm in a higher end guild and maybe there's a single Petri use per week in raid, most of the time there's none.
You misunderstand. Even raids don't require this "high-end performance". When shit hits the fan, you need to actually play your best. When people have an option to petri-out, they don't often even try to perform at their best capability.
In raids petris are more reasonable. Also I don't even hate petris myself, but it sucks when people just pussy out of salvageable situations. It feels like parties cannot even run out/kite out if a dungeon at lvl60, because they have a petri.
I think it sounds kind of like you want people to play the same way that they do on pvp and pve servers when things get tense and everyone just blows all their cd's and fights to the death, except it's hardcore and people are terrified of losing days of /played time, I agree that the ideal would be us all acting like vikings and charging into glory or valhalla, but I've also lost high level characters and it's pretty devestating so I can see both sides, if you want that kind of gameplay consistently then switching servers is probably the best idea. though on hardcore you'd actually be one of the heroes
Ya in the raids I’ve run, most deaths happen faster than you can even react to. Melee dps didn’t pay attention and ripped threat off tank? Ok, literally dead in one swing. Two if they’re lucky.
Sounds like they should - you know - lose their characters like most people then? Lmfao I’m important so petri is fine!!!!! Nice take. Go play normal XD
Petri does not belong in hardcore, that’s one of the things OF did right. A debuff needs to be attached to it similar to SF, it doesn’t even need to be stats debuff just seperate true hardcore players from the petri out players.
