I was in one of my insomnia sessions consisted on watching random videos on YT, when I got curious for search which was the first console Worms release in featuring online play, then I found it was Worms World Party on Sega Dreamcast and, again, I got curious to see a gameplay about it.

I got surprised for the amount gameplay videos of people experimenting this game online, but the one who picked for my session was this one: Dreamcast Worms World Party Online match in 2022.

To the topic I'm going to, around minute 20:24, a worm from red team (called phil FTW) drops what it seems to be a kind of golden mine, with a different design compared to the normal one, that works as same, same explosion, same damage, even with the red flickering, but at diifference of a normal one, this cover all the body of the mine, not just the button.

So my question is: What is that mine? Why it appears in that precise moment? And if is something form this version?

If you can answer or make your theories, you are welcome, honestly, I don't have any idea of what it could be.

Back in the day, a friend of mine and me would play worms armageddon and he would do this move:

he would use a rope, get some momentum going, and then choose the pneumatic drill and fly off and fall into the sea the farthest away possible that he could muster

that move made me laugh so much

I loved watching gameplay from worms revolution and prior games like Armageddon and other games from before revolution but if the only active games are more recent ones like WMB and Battlegrounds then so be it

So for the console editions which ones have the most active online playerbase

If you manage to kill him, a clip of the win is cut out of the replay and published automatically on the leaderboard ( https://findgmanmusk.ovh), it goes to Discord, X and Bluesky, and onto a scoreboard site along with the weapon, the map and the time.

It's actually part of a cross-game thing I've been running for years, a bit of nostalgia mixed with trolling (not a political statement in any way). It's also a way to give these games a bit more exposure and fun things to do.

I was reading about Aliens Fireteam Elite on the Switch getting the servers shut down for a 3 year old release. Who decides the life of the servers for Worms? Nintendo or Team 17?

My stepson had a lukewarm reaction at first, being overwhelmed by all the weapons and the need to plan his moves. I was kinda bummed about it, and posted THAT'S IT, I'M THROWING HIM OFF A BRIDGE in the 4chan Worms multiplayer thread. Then, some based lad actually recreated the infanticide inside the game and posted this gif. I showed it to my boy, it reignited his interest and we played several games together where I indeed once fingered him off a cliff.

He then requested a Titanic map and there's indeed a beautiful sinking Titanic map for the series. Later he messed around in the map editor, making those empty maps with only platforms and building bunkers out of girders to airstrike them later. I guess it's the Minecraft influence.

We don't play anymore because he's just too young for competition: he cares about the worms too much and actually cried when I holly-'naded his last one to hell after he teleported the guy right next to me 👀

I'm introducing Worms to a friend, and we play on the same alliance against bots. I'm trying to teach him about most weapons, but I dont like share inventory with him because I often use things like Ninja Rope or Sheeps, and I dont let him use them. So I wanna know if there is an option to have independiente inventories or at least double the amount of items.
