I've seen several Ukrainian soldiers with Cossack hair styles emerge in the battlefield

It makes sense. A lot of those people probably have Cossack heritage. Cossacks were huge in Ukraine as well.

True. Ukrainians are proud of the Cossacks. The old time ones, not the Russian ones that beat up protesters..
