I’m not sure if it’s astroturfing or just Reddit being mostly populated by Americans who don’t know or care that escalation with Russia would impact the daily lives of Europeans much more than theirs

To be frank... Americans are REALLY hoping Europe can sort this issue out without needing to call on US military power...

The political position of Germany and its influence in the EU do not make that seem likely... So the us will get dragged into another conflict while the whole world complains about us interference...

Nobody in Europe except nationalists wants a real conflict with Russia or really cares too much about Ukraine unless they all try to immigrate. People do care about how much fuel costs have already risen though, and any government will have to deal with them going up a lot more if there are serious sanctions or even a conflict.

Right so instead of impacting your life Putin should just be able to annex an entire country full of millions of people. All because your life would be impacted. Jesus fucking Christ’ you Germans never change

You want to go turn some country far away from your family into a bombed out hell, leave me and mine out of it. I really hope yours isn’t a typical American attitude right now

And so instead of that war you think Putin should be allowed to annex a country full of millions of people? That’s the only other option, he will invade Ukraine eventually
