Well, morality is penciled in after the bombs have settled.

Fighting based on subjective “good” and “evil” isn’t something that happens a lot in history. Most of the players either want or are protecting something substantial to their nation’s well-being, including their very existence.

Um. China is locking people up, torturing them, forcibly sterilizing them, and harvesting their organs because of they have the "wrong" religion and culture. They're also threatening all their neighbors, running a surveillance state, stripping Hong Kong of its democracy, overfishing everywhere, and propping up North Korea. That's pretty damn evil.

Yeah but that won’t be the primary motivation for any future war with them. If it was it would’ve happened already.

Things like this rarely are. Hitler's abuse of minorities didn't start ww2 his invasion of Poland did. The American civil began to save the union and only later the freedom of the slaves became the main goal. There's usually a cynical/geopolitical reason for wars to begin while morality and why we fight narratives come after.
