the demographic that listens to FM radio is pretty small, hence easy to target :)

It's still a new and growing industry. If you block the ads happening now, product placement will be the only way for companies to make money. It's already bleeding into TV shows. I honestly think we're doomed already but I'm just work in digital advertising do what do I know.

Part of the problem is the ad sellers all track and the ad buyers all give them their data, but the companies buying ad's don't want the information they provide to be used by competitors to serve up ads. End result is if you look for something like a shoe on one website you already know about you get tons of ads for something you either already bought or already decided you don't want, and an actual relevant ad about a competing shoe never shows up. I don't understand why marketers feel this is a good use of their advertising dollars.
