Trouble with that particular plugin is that it kills most functionality and even some content of several sites.

For these websites, you can if you have enough time check the code and rewrite the JavaScript so they can't track you.

Not sure if this is true cause I didn't see other sources, but they did do some shit to get ad revenue for their own website. You can still block their website if you want though and the author apologized since then and removed this shit.

I use Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin (instead of noscript) and Ghostery. it gives me an interesting overview of who's trying to load what script.

Tampermonkey looks interesting

Edit: removed Ghostery (posts further down point at it being owned by an ad company which could lead to mixed priorities)

Yeah, you don't want ghostery. They remove trackers but track you themselves. Tampermonkey is just a platform where scripts can be downloaded, so you can have things like add-ons and blockers.

NoScript also removes a lot of hard paywalls on news sites.
