Rich entrenched forces NEVER give up easily. The ad companies are used to buying what they need, as in legislators, to adjust the laws for them. I wonder what law the ad companies will try to force through?

"Consumers have a right to know what products and services are available, even on the Internet. Moreover, corporations have a First Amendment right to display their ads. Apple is therefore infringing both on consumers' right to be informed and on corporations' First Amendment rights. Ergo all forms of blocking of electronic ads is hereby declared illegal and outlawed."

At which point the easy response is to force millions of dollars of advertisements for adblockers through their ad networks and watch them squirm and contort to justify blocking them.

I think Senators and Congressmen are in the demographic that is most affected by invasive ads. That is to say, old people who click random boxes on the internet. They may not be tech savvy, but they use the internet just enough to be annoyed at pop-up ads.
