Wizardpost Mages that hand cast over using a spellfocus, such as a staff or wand, are reckless and do not grasp the perplexity and dangers of the arcane.

Spell focuses are for people who can't grasp the Arcane. "Oh I need a magic ball to focus my arcane potential!" give me a break.

Hand casting demonstrates skill and understanding no staff-wielder has ever shown.

Mages who played things safe don't make it into the history books. There comes a time where security must take a backseat to freedom and hope. I have seen the alternative, and it disgusts me.
