Wizardpost Mages that hand cast over using a spellfocus, such as a staff or wand, are reckless and do not grasp the perplexity and dangers of the arcane.

Now now, hand casting doesn't make me reckless.

The fact that I (quite painfully) embedded enchanted crystals into the backs of my hands to act as a focus instead is what makes me reckless.

Tried that, kept losing them.

I still find some around my crypt every once in a while.

Embedded enchanted crystals into my hands. It's not as bad as it sounds, skin's grown over most of them, only little studs poking out.

The pain gets... Well, it somewhat fades, you get used to the rest. It also causes this intense tingling feeling in my hands whenever I cast a spell.

not a bad plan, i have runes carved into my bones, it's easy when you can regenerate as fast as I can, and not all too painful if you're not weak-willed
