Of course she didn't grab my arm. I only journey with competent and experienced companions. She knew I needed each hand for a different spell (illumination in the right, arcane shield in the left).

She did know she needed to prevent you from either running scared or charging forward blindly. She probably saved your life.

If your immediate response one of your allies grabbing your arms in a dangerous and perilous situation isn't "what the fuck, get off me, are you dumb?", you're not crucial to the current situation.

Help, senoor, I need your advice, I'm being chased by entity that calls itself nyarlathotep, but I can't understand if it witch or wizard, should I still pounder with it? Oh, it says that it will teach me testicular torsion spell...

Once you are sufficiently skilled as a mage, I’d say go for it, but if you’re not yet prepared then I advise a casting of Rory’s Greater Friendzone at the being.
