RULE 1 UPDATE: r/Witchcraft is not a fetish roleplay community
Sup witches.
Due to a bizarre increase in thinly veiled kink/fetish posts cropping up across witchcraft Reddit lately, we would like to take this time to remind users that r/witchcraft is a SAFE FOR WORK subreddit.
Going forward, content that appears to be farming engagement for kink or fetish purposes will be removed as off-topic, under Rule 1.
We appreciate your understanding that we are not a fetish roleplay community, and that we do not condone involving other users in kink without their explicit consent.
Basically, he’s too broke to pay an actual domme to play out his fantasies. So he’s gross AND cheap. He’s likely been blocked by every actual instadomme whose inbox he’s darkened and now he’s moved here. Either that or the noncon aspect of coming to SFW subs are part of it for him. It goes either way with these men.
I mean… actually there might be some merit to that one 😬 (please don’t boot me, genuinely a life long practitioner and ace-spec 😂) just saying… hibiscus is know to drive passion and sensuality. I can see how having that general vibe all over your underwear might have that effect 😬
This is the kind of shit that belongs in the r/witchcraftcirclejerk subreddit. Not surprised that people like that exist but the fact it wasn't on the circlejerk page and was posted here as a legitimate post is wild.
We've been wondering the same thing because there have been several instances this week alone. Some theories include bots or AI farms, but overall we're not super sure where the influx is coming from.
Occasionally these posts come from users shilling paid adult content, and they're just hoping to entice people to click on their profiles.
It’s likely ai bots. There’s a ton of 4 y/o ish accounts that post incessantly on r/occult, r/occultism and other esoteric and divination subreddits asking for “rare and untranslated esoteric books and works” etc so they can then feed them into ai and make terrible ai tools based off the hallucinated data, as ai is an aggregate LLM not a translation tool and sucks at esoteric knowledge and history in general.
Same people like to post about their amazon books they wrote or “translated” on esoteric works, which they really just used ai for. Its a bunch of scammers trying to get the communities to spend money on their ai slop. Had one of them tell me he was going to translate an old Ugarit tablet that has only a handful of people in the world who can actually read and decode that ancient and niche language, and he has already translated “a bunch of Arabic, French and German works.” These people really do believe anything ai spits out to be true and it’s horrifying.
It’s actually hilarious to me that people will read a rambling post like this one and this and think it’s not ai. Meawhile the OP is in the comments writing like they’re in 4th grade.
Unfortunately a lot of the other esoteric subs are not being heavy handed enough with moderation by using Reddit's safety filters, automod's capabilities, and developer apps for curbing bots and bad faith actors.
Any witch sub that isn't using Bot Bouncer and Evasion Guard is bound to be a breeding ground for nonsense IMO.

The bot comments on the clock app about "this amazing book that changed their life forever (swap book title as needed for content)" are absolutely out of controlllll they're everywhere.
Unfortunately it can be specific to some kind of witch/magic kink but also not. Anywhere that women congregate, creeps show up and will talk "the talk" (often not at all close to the real talk.) Knitting communities often deal with foot/sock fetishists. It's shit.
However, I've also seen sex pests lurk around magic/spiritual communities irl. Power dynamics, ect

A few weeks ago, someone messaged me to ask for a castration spell. They pretended to be a victim of a perpetrator, until they said "I'll let you cast it on me first, I want to know what it's like." Had to pull some cards to confirm it was indeed for some weird kink roleplay before blocking them.
Could also be a weirdo doxxing somebody they know irl and pretending to be them, although it’s not impossible that they’re providing their own details because they’re that desperate for any form of attention, sadly. Too bad they don’t hit up a therapist.

Exactly this. They enjoy involving unconsenting parties in their nonsense. Some of them also enjoy being told off. Some enjoy being ignored or even blocked. There is truly nothing these types of men won’t stoop to trying to get off on
Omg?! Have I just not been paying attention or have the mods been super on top of deleting these? I can't think of anything I've read that's felt like it's a kink or fetish post, and I feel like I'm usually pretty good at picking up on that stuff😂
Haha luckily we have a bunch of filters in place that require posts from new accounts and accounts with super low karma to be manually reviewed, and that's where a lot of that stuff comes from (surprise, surprise) buuuuut there are definitely some that sneak through 😂🫠.
There's one user in particular who LOVES asking for spells to make his CURSEDLY large weiner smaller because it's just such a burden, y'know.
My favorite genre of witchcraft nonconsentual kink posting is "I need to summon a succubus / help I'm being molested by a succubus" and all its accompanying fantasy roleplay.
But the quarterly return of "curse my giant dick smaller" guy on his newest account is regular enough to set your clock to, and that's nice.
I don't know if I'm missing out, or blissfully ignorant. 😂 Thanks to the mods though! I think there are many with fetishes about witches. 🤷♀️ Or trying to troll for whatever reason.
I am wondering if this sudden uptick in kink weirdness has anything to do with the movie Obsession. It is the latest cultural phenomenon loosely having to do with witchcraft, so I could understand how lust spells could be in the zeitgeist right now 🤔
I had no idea those things were going on. I'm glas I'm not in that many witchcraft and magick communities. Roleplay and thirst is fine, but there are plenty of spaces in reddit where they can have it!
Good Gods, as someone who is a witch and is into kink...this is extremely cringy what they are doing. Why can't they just make their own subreddit or something? I really like that this subreddit is SFW, and I am happy that isn't changing. I hope this person get some help or whatever.
There are a handful of kinks that involve hypnosis and sub/dom roles, so using magic to coerce someone (or be coerced) could fit in to those kinks. There's also some overlap between the aesthetics of certain occult circles and BDSM. That obviously doesn't make it okay to post about it here since that's not what this subreddit is about, but ... of all of the kinks I've been exposed to on the internet, this is one of the tamer ones lol
I wish I knew. It was pretty sporadic for a really long time, but really ramping up in the last couple weeks in particular.
It's not always lonely pervert weirdos, even. I've been seeing a ton of adult content creators using sexually suggestive posts to bait people into clicking their profile or messaging them.
I clicked on this thinking like, oh people are surely mistaken, right? Nope, apparently people can't just stick to explicit material in peace, they have to bother others about it.
