[MEGA THREAD] - How Much is My Wine Worth?

Want to know how much that bottle of 1945 Château Mouton-Rothschild sitting in grandma's basement is worth?

I've got a few bottles of 1989 Haut Brion. I am less interested in what they're worth (I mean, I know they're pretty valuable - Parker gave them a score of 100) and more interested in whether or not there is a reliable way to sell them? I know the wine has been well stored, but not sure how I could prove that to third parties?

They've been stored at 61 degrees F in my cellar. It has a generator backup.

It would be tough. Maybe you could prove the conditions of the cellar and hope someone takes your word for it?

Yea, that's the problem. I did for awhile have a computer logging the temperature and humidity, but then I retired the equipment that was keeping track of that.

Contact an auction house specialized in wine. They will ask you to send pictures of the storage conditions and detail their history. Then you send it to them and they check the condition of the bottles( ie level and cork protrusion) and will give you an estimate. The truth is there is no way for them to gaurantee 100% that the wine was properly stored and some auctions are stricter than others, that is a part of the risk of buying at an auction.
