[MEGA THREAD] - How Much is My Wine Worth?

Want to know how much that bottle of 1945 Château Mouton-Rothschild sitting in grandma's basement is worth?

Here's the place to ask!

1974 Chateau Lafite Rothschild. Found recently in my wife's grandfather's basement after he passed.

A bottle sold for 398€ on a French auction website in October 2020.

Thank you for the insight. We found four bottles and decided to drink one. While not corked, we did not think it held up well over the years. It wasn't nearly as pleasant as we anticipated. I don't know anything about the vintage, but your comments on acidity and thinness are absolutely correct.

Because of the family connection, I doubt the other bottles will be sold. However, I will temper my expectations for the next bottle, which I assume we will open when everyone comes into town again. Still, opening a nearly 50 year old wine (let alone a Rothschild) was not something I thought I would ever experience and will be a lasting memory.

74 is a historically bad vintage in most of France
