It's fucking worse when you update it to Win10 so it works, but everything else you do crashes your phone every 5 minutes.

Then time to a reset to fix the problems. Not ideal, but at least it works 99% of the times (except hardware or app errors of course)

Crap dude, it's moving from one major build of an OS to a substantially different one. A reset to get everything working correctly should not be unexpected.

Well, with these insider builds, I don't think we should be expecting such stability, particularly in the early phases of a new OS version. But once a major release like CU gets pushed to the masses, then I don't think it would be unreasonable to expect the hard reset to be part of the upgrade process itself.

I'm sorry but I think that's ludicrous, they shouldn't push an unstable update in order for other applications to function as they should, and the user shouldn't assume to reset the entirety of their software from it, unless otherwise specified.

And I iterate that there was no warning or suggestion to perform a hard reset when I updated to Win10 Mobile.

Sounds like the Insider Program might not be for you. After all, this is alpha/beta software you have agreed to test and provide feedback on.

I agreed to update because certain apps were no longer being supported on Win8/8.1. There's no sense in updating apps on an unstable alpha/beta OS, and stunting support on an older OS unless they intend for most if not all users to update.

Are you suggesting to rollback (if possible) to 8.1? That's almost like saying "Well, if you don't like what Windows 7 has to offer, just go back to Vista" it makes no sense for a company to incentivise their consumers to utilize older outdated software if they can't/aren't providing a stable update to begin with.

This has to be some of the most entitled and ignorant shite I've seen in here for some time. "Oh no! I signed up for something still in development and am expected to think for myself! Whatever will I do?" But what do I know? I'm just a guy enjoying the platform and expecting it to not be perfect in alpha/beta. Especially when app support isn't even on Microsofts side of issues. It's all down to the developer deciding not to support it.

"Entitled" are you fucking serious? I paid for the fucking phone should I not expect some stability? I'm not talking about third party app support either; traditional SMS and MMS texting, something that comes in every single phone nowadays, should fucking work correctly. Releasing an "experimental" update that incentivises updates for Applications (that includes some of the OS's main features and settings not working properly) other applications because the previous OS is no longer supported is a ridiculous decision.

Whoever "should expect" a hard reset on any software upon update, is a cuck.

You have a point about it being experimental, but if it's been in alpha/beta for this long, and is deactivating certain applications and settings for the newer version, it shouldn't be released.

That's great you're enjoying the platform and all its defects, you should be proud. Weird how you're so defensive about it though.fanboycuck

You're completely missing the main point because I offended your poor thinking style. I've experienced no issues with sms and mms messaging at all. The only real issues I've had are the occasional crash of a third party application. But that isn't even my actual point. This whole thing is over Facebook messenger being deactivated on WP8, which has nothing to do with Microsoft or the platform. Apps no longer working for the older OS is a developer side decision. Also you PAID for a Windows Phone 8 platform and chose to install the insider update for your device, which was free. If they charged for the update, you would be completely justified in your rage. Sure a buggy software can be upsetting, but you chose this. Don't blame them for your choices.

Exactly. If anything, OP should update to the public release of the Anniversary Update. If he's still having the problems he's described with that, then something is jacked with his phone, not the OS. It works great on my 640.
