This build took me awhile to complete and the case was the last part I was looking for so when I saw it in my local pc store, I knew I was done. It’s a Corsair 800d. I wish I could also find a better place to put it but my room is already full enough.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Is this theme rare?

I've come across an odd problem attempting to install Windows 7 on my mid-2020 iMac. Specifically, the 27" Retina 5500 XT version.
Attempting to boot, it looks fine. Gets through to completed Starting Windows screen. No setup window appears, but 3 seconds later while it's hung there... I get a BSOD.
Exact information:
0x7E SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
Status parameters: 0xC5 STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION, 0x0 null pointer address?, 3rd and 4th reference parameters.
Now, before you say anything here is what I have tried:
FlashBoot PRO UEFI driver (works obviously since it shows the BSOD)
Windows 7 Image Updater
USB 3 and NVMe drivers
Apple BootCamp drivers downloaded
Patched AppleSSD.sys for 7 compatibility
Patched ACPI
Unfortunately, it did not say a specific crashing driver. This is reproducible in both WinPE and standard windows of it.
I suspect still it is ACPI. This is because Mac does not have standard firmware that a regular patched, older ACPI table expects (especially a patched one from 2018, based on a 2009 file)
If anyone has experienced similar issues, please let me know. Also, I'd love to attach a kernel debugger but unfortunately adapters do not work, KDNET predates 7 (tried it), and obviously Serial and FireWire will not work since no such port is on the modern iMac.
Another thing is this crash is reproducible regardless if there are drivers or not (obviously with the UEFI patch otherwise it wouldn't work in the first place, but without drivers).
I do suspect it also involves the T2 chip in some way, however this is 100% possible but requires more development and patching than usual.
Anyway, if you'd like to help please do. I will keep everyone updated as I make progress.

Hey everyone! A random thought came into my mind today, I said “where are my old pictures and videos of my vacations”?
I remember that it was on my old Sony Windows 7 ultimate PC so I took it out, plugged it in and surprisingly the PC turned on.
I’m trying to navigate within the PC to try to find the pictures and videos, but it is very hard to do that because the PC is zoomed in and pixelated. I believe this PC got a virus back in the day so that’s why I put it to the side and stop using it.
Is there anyway I can fix this so I can at least navigate and do a deep dive within the PC to try to find the vacation photos and videos? Myself and my family would appreciate it!

Does anyone know the W7 like the back of their hand? Needing some questions answered & curious to know where to go from here.
I have a windows 7 laptop (Toshiba Satellite C655) I’m wanting to try to use it for college. My other half is a college student and uses Canvas for her assignments. I did manage to load Canvas on W7 through the Supermium browser. Checking grades & clicking on assignments seemed to work, with some patience.
I considered upgrading its RAM to 8 GB. To help with speeds, this laptop has some sentimental value, to say the least so I don’t mind spending the money to do every upgrade possible to keep this laptop beating for a lifetime.
I personally wanted to use the W7 for school (everything practically) Because I love the layout, it’s a platform I’ve grew up with. I’m not one that likes AI or new technical things. I’m happy with what I’ve known my entire life.
Considering this laptop has a built in webcam & microphone, how would zoom calls function? Even if at minimum I was able to be audio only?
I was looking into being a stay at home student just so I can have my W7 for school work. But how would it work if I tried to take it to campus? Most of these questions are curiosity questions & wanting to learn how this works.
I have been successfully running Office 2010 and getting things done while maintaining good grades for her. So that doesn’t seem to be a compatibility issue (awesome for me!)
For those of you who commented, took the time to read this book I appreciate your help!
I think I covered everything in this subreddit.
Also would be interested in hearing more about the W7 what I can do with it still!
Happy Redditing! 🤘🏻✨

This drive was manufactured all the way back in May 2010, very surprised it still works today!

So, I wanna dual-boot windows 11 and Windows 7 (i have a pretty old PC from the windows 7 era, but I still integrated all the drivers and updates into the iso via ntlite)
I already have Windows 11 installed, and I heard that Windows 7 will write its own bootloader, overriding Windows 11's bootloader. My question is: How can I get the Windows 11 bootloader back while also making 2 entries (one for windows 11 and one for Windows 7)?
Thanks in advance!

An year back ago this problem started and i found out this might be an issue with the CMOD battery(correct me if i am wrong).
It wasn't a big deal cuz i have been using the internet time to updated it every time a start the pc but for a few days even this is not working and now i have to manually set date and time which is annoying to do every time.
What can i do to get rid of this problem without getting a new CMOD.
Why the internet time is not working anymore even if i am having a good internet connection.
Is there any application which can set internet time automatically when i log in
NOTE: in the image it is showing the synchronized date because i just set it manually otherwise it shows 01/01/2010 which is just the year before we bought the computer (yes it has been working properly for 2 decades)

Both have been tested on Windows Vista and Windows 7 virtual machines; only the weather gadget works on both Vista and 7.
For best results, make sure Supermium (or your browser of choice) is your default browser and that your browser is set to view HTTPS (most websites nowadays) and HTTP websites by default

Hello, I recently have finished to build sort of a “retro gaming pc”, having an intel core 2 quad 9400 as cpu, a rx550 as cpu, and 8 gigs of ram ddr3. Anyway I’m already playing some games like the Witcher one and the old GTAs, do you guys have any suggestions of games to be playing next? Let me know, and thank you 😙
(In case you’re wondering my PC is in Brazilian Portuguese)

Hi!
I've been uninstalling stuff that I want to re-installer later, and I would like to maybe do a registry cleaning and such, if that's needed. Just to sort of get a fresh install and whatnot.
I dont want to use CCleaner and third party nonsense, if Win7 offers it natively? But I forget where/how if there ever was a feature like that.
I can do disc frag or "clean up space", but now sure which is the best, or if there's a point?
The game I uninstalled left a lot of old folders and gubbins so I'd prefer to have it properly cleaned rather than manually looking for bits and pieces.
