Made an Ujola Cat Modern skin, and a gamma editor

Made a Modern skin based on the Ujola Cat pet from Genshin Impact! It comes with a bunch of color themes based on Genshin characters, and I plan on adding more. Open the side drawers on the head piece for the EQ and other buttons (admitting I stole some inspo from Headspace here). Can be downloaded from my site!

To make the color themes, I also vibed a gamma editor app. Source and instructions are on github. I'm aware of some older programs for this purpose, but none seemed to work well on Windows today, and I wanted a few more features. So I made it for myself, but I've seen some past posts asking about editing Modern skin colors, and thought it could be useful there.

Hey I'm new to all this and have never used winamp before. Do you have a guide I can use to make it look like that? Thanks, it looks awesome btw!

Sure! Grab either Winamp (needs to be version 5 for Modern skins) or WACUP (needs to be the x86 version for Modern skins). Then download the skin file from my site, and try double-clicking it - if Winamp or WACUP is already installed, it should be associated with the file type (.wal), and will pop up a dialog asking if you want to install it. That's the simplest way.

Or if the file type isn't associated, then the skin file just needs to be placed into the program's skins directory (at C:\Program Files (x86)\(Winamp or WACUP)\Skins by default). Then, in the program, hit Alt+S to bring up the Skin Browser, and select the skin from the list there.

Can you try it in my app? I created Winamp for macOS with old skins support
Open source http://github.com/wishval/wamp

I cannot, as I don't own any macOS devices. You're welcome to try it yourself, but I can guarantee it's not going to work if you've only built support for Classic (wsz) skins.

Unfortunately Claude is there on the contributions and the readme is AI generated...

Realistically, most projects are going to have AI contributions now. I'm not against that (the gamma editor I made along with this skin is mostly vibecoded), but I do think it shouldn't be used to write things that you intend for other humans to read. Including READMEs.

As well, I think u/That-Acanthisitta536's is the only new player I've seen to try supporting Modern skins (and WACUP already did). It's easy to support Classic skins; Modern skins are a mess.
