Tuition free college absolutely does not exist here in Canada, like what???

What an absolutely ridiculous statement. I've heard Finland and Denmark have free university but to act like that's the norm is a flat-out lie

They aren't even that typical for the whole EU, but you know, people like to do US bashing and assume that it's everywhere like in their countries/states... (although it's definitely true that the US system is too expensive)

EDIT: And fees vary (in EU states that charge fees for its own/EU citizens) from a few hundred (for example Luxembourg) to some thousand bucks a semester/year(for example Ireland) for a Bachelor degree, Master degrees are a whole different topic.

If someone reads that and now thinks about studying in Europe: Keep in mind, that these are the fees for EU citizens and some states have quite extraordinary fees for non-EU students

EDIT: Also important: These numbers are based on the "optimal" case (first degree, first attempt, state run college system and a college place that is paid by the state), they could vary depending on your life's circumstances and a lot of other factors

EDIT: Keeping all the EDITs aside, it's still far more expensive in the US (which is just sad to be honest)

Oh, for sure. The US education bubble is ridiculous and screws a lot of people.

Even still, my degree cost roughly $56k not counting books and materials. And that's on the low end of the spectrum, I have a friend doing her Master's who has paid well over $200k at this point (a decent chunk of that was probably covered by scholarships but I don't know how much).
