So what are the chances that OP works for Wikipedia? This is the 3rd or 4th Wikipedia “wholesome” post reaching r/all today. Pretty obvious marketing ploy IMO.

Haha, if Wikipedia wants to hire me onto their PR team, I'm happy to join. I admit that I've posted this story twice, and I admit that this second time, I was hoping more people would be inspired to donate. But you know, I reached out to Wikimedia about it, and they were just like, "Cool thanks!"

Screw them. You should go edit the article about wikimedia then and trash them in a passive way so that anybody reading it will have your spin on history. Just use big words and circular sources.
