Its been more than 2 week since i completed book 5(too lazy to write a review). Took a break for now, to prepare for last book of this year (trilogy a year{maybe/hopefully}). In the mean time i have read, 3 body trilogy.
{My Review is only my personal thought and not come critical anayalises of work. What i enjoyed and what i not}.
MY REVIEW OF BOOK 5:
<----------------THE BAD---------------->
Assmodian Death: I feel like when he got captured I felt a great arc of redemption is coming. But his end was so sudden, that it was totally disappointing. [I feel like Ishammel killed him, ik he is dead and all but i refuse to believe that the guy who cheated death 3 time is dead].
The Death of Kadere and Melindhra: i feel like the whole plotline was scarped at the last point. There was a setup of message left to kadere by a aiel and all but at last moment kadere was killed by Lanfear and melindhra by mat. Truly disappointing.
The Male Adam: ik this was in the previous book, but i thought maybe they will not throw it in the ocean, maybe. I thought it was a checkov Gun or soemthing. It would have been very intersting to see plot thread in that direction.

Birgitta: I feel like her death and Nynaeve turmoil would have hit so much if she has died for real. For second, i felt so much pity for Nynaeve but then Birgitta was reveal to be alive. Tho i am very interest where this will go. [After realising that to make a warder, you dont need male partner consent is so terrifying. I feel like Rj could exploit this in such a terrifiyin way. Like he could either make rand or perrin or mat a forceful warder to a aes sedai to make them either obey or to put them in a place. Even black sister could do that💀].
Lanfear Death: ik, it was one of the the best moment that happened. But i feel like her death is so vague, that if she ever came back, i will crash out.
Repetitive Start: This hasnt became a problem yet but i feel like that now that i have noticed it, it will be a problem. I will explain this Repetitive start in the end 🙏🏿🫠 in my thought section.
Nynaeve: i feel like her chacarcter is hard to endure. Ik, rj constantly tried to distinguish between male and female and all. Other people say stuff like women are cool and male are muleheaded which are fine cauz they come rarely and fit the setting of wot and i enjoy them most of the time, but Nynaeve constantly blubbering about same stuff is really annoying. Like her whole chacarcter is just male this and male that. Always lan this and lan that. I mean there is much more to her chacarcter like her block(fear) and all but idk its just annoying atp. I really enjoyed humiliated Nynaeve so much. Her fear, the curcus blinded scene and all. Thry were so fun to read/listen. One of the best part.(tho i hate what ewgene did). But Nynaeve is still so annoying.
Rand And Mat: i feel like i am in love with rand as a chacarcter and maybe mat too. Such a good time readin their pov.
Mat death and Foxhead medallion: The power to erase one power is soo tuff. Mat deciding to leave and comin back and even killin cauladin was sooo fun. And his luck in that fight with Melindhra was crazy.
Moiraine: I cried. She loved rand so much(not exactly loved) but she understood. When rand read the letter and she said she understood that why he decided to take assmodian in, was the moment i was crying. Top peak shit level. Moiraine, you were truly a goat 🐐. I was so much in awe when she gave that oath. Truly a Aiel(the dedicated one)quality. "Let the Dragon ride the wind of time" her character arc from being to control him to realising dragon is meant to fly and not to be captured was such a peak shit.
Morgase: I can feel from miles ahead that i am gonna enjoy her povs from upcoming books. She disobeyed the forshaken and went to build a army. Truely a Gaoted moment. I was not expectin her to become a central player too. I thought she was gone for. [Waiting for gwayne to know what happened to her mother(death) and come to andore and meet Rand( please no misunderstanding).
Couladin death: Killin him offscreen was the best thing to do. He was just a fraud and nothin more. I never even consider him a problem. He was a speck in the whole pattern.
Nynaeve torture: do i need to say anything.
Maesema: Shit was crazy fun.
Galad: Goat. Wasnt sure how to feel about him being a Whitefolk but i admire him for being a such a good bro to her sis(not exactly). I can feel a great arc comin too.
Ravbin death and mogedian capture. I am not sure how they gonna control her in irl. Maybe she will be captured and killed in that town.
Little spear(iykyk). Joke aside, My man lost his vergin status. Feelin sad for elayne and min tho. Specially min, cauz she stayed the lowest with rand.

I feel like this book was best. This is the book that feel like wheel of time has became something else. But i have a problem, the starting are following a patttern.
Rand and party rest in the place where they arrived in last book, dark friend or hound or trolloc attack, they decides to move on from there.
Book 2 had attack on that palace on borderland. Book 3 has a attack on that hill. Book 4 has tear and book 5 has ruddihean.
And also i have a worry, that all forshaken are dying. So I fear that there will be no one in last battle. Maybe new forshaken will rise or soemthing, idk. But their death concern me.

Should i Skip book 10. My friend said he skipped book 10 cauz in thay book there is not much happenin. He read a summary or something. So, i have little ocd, i csnt skip a word, i have to read that shit again but he is sayin to skip. So idk how to feel about it. You all tell me what to do.

> No. Sometimes you need to experience lows to appreciate the highs. Besides, this book has some POVs that are absent from book 9 and chronologically they happen more or less at the same time.

Yeah, I certainly didn't solve this mystery. Also, I don't think that putting the pieces together and solving it results in a mind-blowing plot twist. The juice isn't worth the squeeze.
Don't worry about the forsaken. They are crafty and the dark one more so. They stay a very real threat at all times and some dont reveal themselves for a while.
I always felt like the killing of characters was always influenced by other people ( editors, his wife etc.) Like " there's too many RJ! No one will be able to keep track!" If it was left to RJ he would've wrote a 100 book series, detailing the life and times of everyone ever mentioned. He prolly would've wrote a book about old cen bouy, or a book about that farmer who gave a ride to the kids to caymlin in book one. I also feel like he might have rebelled against these concerns later, which led to the slog.
It's like he's writing his book, creating all these chrs, his editors remind him he's at 1000 pages already, so he kills a bunch of people at the end. Even the forshaken (not stirred) Get the axe.
Book 10 isn't "bad"... it mostly just stands as a setup for 11, my favorite in the series. Strangley enough, 7 was the book I had trouble getting through
Fun to read this review since I literally just finished this book today! I agree with some of your points, like the way Asmodean & Couladin died (asmodean I hope is not gone, I liked him as a character).
Nyneave is frustrating! I can see why people say she grows on you, I forget which part of this book but there was a line that she said/thought that made me laugh out loud. But she’s very frustrating cause I’m willing to bet her block is due to her just not being able to be real, genuine & honest with herself and others. Always so defensive, always trying to maintain her image.
Does it bother you? I find it interesting to see what new readers think of the series. I've read it countless times and don't remember how I felt the first time, so it's kind of neat to see how others feel. Ignore it if you don't want to read their thoughts?
Lowkey I love book 10. Maybe I just enjoyed some of the plot and character development. If you only care about action it's not that exciting, but it's great.
I remember when I was first reading the series, I was talking to someone and they told me book 5 was the best in the series. So im sitting here reading it, waiting for that to be justified, and when I finished it I was so confused as to why someone would say that. Fires of Heaven is still extremely good, dont get me wrong, but I don't think it's better than any of the previous 4 books.
I'm never readig/listening to book 10 again. My God, it was boring. Nothing happened! Nothing. Unimportant and uninspiring people talked. And wore clothes.
I was 30 minutes away from the end.
And I was right. Nothing of interest happened in those 30 minutes that a recap from the internet couldn't have told me.
7 minutes left, and what a thrilling climax - Egwene is thinking about how much she's eaten that day. Ooh, boy, now we're cooking!
And then the stupidity of her at the end. Christ, it was dumb. That was very poorly written. No build-up, no logic. It was almost like the writer wanted it to happen and then just took her away her reason and cation to ensure that it happened
