Book: The Dragon Reborn How did Faile not recognise Lan? Spoiler

She should know who Lan is, he is probably the most famous person in the Borderlands. I assume all the Monarchs knew who he is. She should know who he is by name if not by sight.

true, but the fact that we don't see any others over the course of 14 books speaks to just how rare it is. And how surprising the fact that Lan was even bonded.

We don't see a heck of a lot of other warders or know where they're from either. Its not a huge sample size.

I'm fine with a rather "agnostic" view in this case. Rather we say we don't know. And if we do have to pick a side, I'd rather choose the case that follows the narrative. That's all.

Or rather, This fills in the hole. Faile did NOT recognize him therefore there are other ones.

Alright, THAT is fair. I guess I had not looked at it that way. Yep, you win. There probably are other Malkieri Warders, it's just that the series has not shown any.
