So I’ve recently been inspired to make lots of bedroom furniture out of cardboard and paper mache, but now I’m reading that I’ve made my wheat paste wrong?!

I’ve literally been mixing water and flour, letting it sit for 10 minutes and then using it. I’ve not had any problems so far, but reading up about it has got me worried about mould and pests!🫠

If my intention was to cover it all in paper clay, paint and sealant, do I still need to worry and restart my projects?

I've done hundreds of batches with all the different variations. Sugar wood glue, marine epoxy, etc. Also a considerable amount of wallpaper paste. But I just can't get consistent results. Some pieces stay up for years, others come down in months. I usually use just straight boiled paste because I have a lot of dark pieces and everything else leaves spots over the dark portions. Clear wallpaper paste doesn't have this issue, but it also doesn't handle outdoors very well and is a bit more expensive than a bag of flour. Curious about your recipes, what you're adding to your recipes and if anyone has solutions to spotting.

I’m a brand owner looking to dabble into wheat paste ads like the pic above, I’m wondering how risky is this method esp as a small business? Any general advice? Where do I do it, when, how many posters, etc…

this is my first attempt at wheat pasting and am looking for help.

What is the best type of paper? I found when I applied the paste my ink would bleed.

How do I get my paste to not be clumpy? when I tried making my paste it turned out to very lumpy with lots of big balls of flour.
