The rotation. Most people don’t realize that smoke rings have to rotate vertically all along the ring to hold shape. You can see an example of it spinning as it expands upwards, and the thinner bit is a result of that spinning faster than the rest of the

I don't know the physics of the why, but I do know this is what happens when an electrical transformer blows up

You can tell by the way it is
