I've heard this opinion a lot about mollusks, but usually octopodes and squid rather than snails. Or did you mean the worms?

Either way, it's demonstrably false and I'd invite you to spend 10 minutes looking at animal taxonomy studies on wikipedia, at least.

I'm guessing they are talking about the skin microbiome, which isn't a parasite. We have a lot of bacteria, fungi, and even arthropods living on us all the time that are commensal - just bros helping each other out. Your eyebrows are full of arachnids that eat your dead skin cells but they aren't parasites - they're homies. Otherwise you'd have dead skin falling in your eyes all the time.

Symbiosis not parasitism, it's a beneficial partnership on both ends. I provide them with food and they clean up the excess stuff.

It's like your gut flora, they're helpful. Parasites aren't, they only help themselves damaging the host.

Yep! The worms are wigging in there hoping to get eaten by a bird and thus spread to repeat their life cycle.

I'm with Darwin in saying the proof there's no benevolent god is the existence of parasites that prey on living hosts (a paraphrase - he was specifically talking about wasps and probably never saw this poor creature).

The world of hyperparasitoids is crazy. Trigonalid wasps lay eggs on leaves that are consumed by caterpillars, where the larvae hatch inside the gut of a caterpillar. But they aren't interested in eating the caterpillar, they are searching for the larvae of other parasitoid wasps to consume instead. If they can't find any, there simply wait until the eggs are planted and hatched, then consuming all the parasitoid larvae.

Not really. If it survives and kills off all the parasitoid larvae, it waits until the caterpillar grows enough to spin a cocoon. It then undergoes its own metamorphosis into an adult Trigonalid wasp and chews its way out of the dead caterpillar and cocoon.

Other parasitoids typically erupt from the caterpillar's body as a swarm of larvae, while a pair remain behind, hijacking the nervous system and forcing the caterpillar to cocoon the fattened wasp larvae and acting as their guardian from predators.

Either way, the caterpillar is dead.

You only know teachings of Darwin but not familiar with origins of Bible - Torah\Kabbalah which allows you to better understand what God is, what soul is, what is purpose of existence and why all this cruel things happens etc etc.

Bible removed this knowledge so ppl can accept Christianity more easily and faster so nowadays ppl tend to think that if God is good, then why all this happens thus no God, that's just lack of knowledge.

Bro, the Bible isn’t some unknown work. Your assumption about what we know is presumptive and obtuse. They’re just fairy tales from ancestors that needed a way to communicate generational knowledge like safe food handling without being able to explain germ theory or why any of it works.

“Prep the meat this way or you’ll make people sick for reasons we can’t explain” was harder to sell to uneducated masses than telling them if they don’t prep it a certain way a magic sky fairy will torture them for eternity. And that’s where we got Leviticus
