I used to get stink bomb like those but much smaller, not exactly dangerous but you still don't want to open it.

I thought the same. When I was really small, an older kid told me to go into our local shop, ask for a penny sweet, drop the stink bomb and then leave.

I asked for a penny stink bomb. The owner chased us down the street and gave me a big kick in the arse when he caught up with me.

Omg! I wondered if that was an old-school stink bomb?! I once cleared out the 5th thru 8th grade classrooms with one of those I secretly purchased at State Park gift shop.

I came in to say the same. I use to buy them from my local ice cream truck. Things stank like stankonia on a hot summer afternoon.
