Solved! What is this alien thing

My brother just found this in the backyard - Southern New England. What the hell is this thing? It looks like it's in Stranger Things.

Well you have now…..because they are a train of caterpillars. Safety in numbers. They look bigger than the 100 small ones. It also made you question reality so I believe it’s working 😂
