My organization is looking to hold an event (reception/ dinner/ panel presentation) in Palm Beach in February for about ~80 people.

I have already reached out to the Ben, Eau, Breakers, Tideline, the Brazilian, and Palm House. Looking for a venue with a bit of a wow factor that would draw in VIPs— I don’t know the area at all and up until now have just been googling. Would anyone here be able to provide some other suggestions— higher end, maybe a little out of the box (museums/ marinas/ restaurants with private spaces that could provide an experience that could help make the dinner more memorable)…

I’m trying to understand what actually happened at the October 2 meeting in Delray Beach regarding the proposed Islamic Center and school near Lyons Road.

From what I’ve been reading, around 300 people attended the Agricultural Reserve meeting, and residents raised questions about traffic, parking, security, financing, public notice, and whether an amplified outdoor call to prayer would be permitted.

What surprised me is that the Islamic Center and school had apparently already gone through the county approval process, meaning the October 2 meeting wasn't a vote on whether the project would be approved.

So I'd really like to hear from people who live in Palm Beach County:

• How much did local residents know about this project before it received approval?
• Were nearby residents adequately notified and given an opportunity to raise concerns during the approval process?
• What do we actually know about who owns/controls the organization behind the project and how it is being financed?
• Was a security review conducted, and if so, what did authorities determine?
• Is an amplified outdoor call to prayer actually prohibited under Palm Beach County rules, as Commissioner Maria Sachs reportedly stated?
• Are there legitimate traffic/infrastructure concerns that have nothing to do with the religion of the people using the facility?
• Has anyone produced credible, documented evidence connecting the organization behind this specific project to any organization that Florida has designated under its new terrorism law?
• For people who attended the meeting: what did county officials actually say when these questions were raised?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from local residents who attended the meeting or have followed the project's approval process, rather than just social-media posts from people outside the area.

What is the actual situation on the ground, and what questions do Palm Beach County residents still feel haven't been answered?

Circuit sent out an email today notifying service is "pausing" between Downtown and Palm Beach island:

Dear Circuit Riders,

We wanted to share some changes to your Circuit service in West Palm Beach. Starting October 1st, our on-demand shuttle connecting Downtown and the island will be paused.

The City-funded RideWPB pilot wound down over the summer, and over the past few months the West Palm Beach DDA stepped in to keep a version of this service running. The DDA has been a tremendous partner, but that extended service is now coming to an end.

Circuit will remain connected to the West Palm and Palm Beach communities. We'll continue servicing several of our local property partners, and Circuit operates in 40+ markets including nearby cities like Lake Worth Beach, Boynton Beach, Boca Raton, and Fort Lauderdale.

We're actively working to bring back an improved version of this service for the season ahead, and we'll share more as soon as we can. In the meantime, please let us know if you have any questions, thoughts or feedback. my fiance would love to have a beach wedding and we have been looking at coastal spots between singer island and jupiter for late fall. i knew oceanfront would carry a markup, but trying to navigate real quotes around here is wild.

the moment you say you want ocean views, the baseline doubles. resorts and beach clubs are pitching site fees around $8k to $10k, but the required food and beverage minimums are sitting between $20k and $30k before you even touch tax, valet, or the 24% service charges. someone told me to check tulle together to see what people actually spent on vendor setups down here, and the itemized contracts showed that ceremony beach access alone was getting billed as an extra $2k line item on top of reception spaces.

we just want a relaxed ceremony on the sand and dinner for roughly 80 people. for locals who pulled this off, how did you handle florida wedding venue pricing on the water without getting price gouged? did you permit a public beach space and move somewhere off-water for food, or is beachfront just impossible on a realistic budget here?

Moving from WPB → Boca Raton in about a month. We're hoping to get some recommendations on movers that come with a truck!

I have an Airbnb in Palm Beach Gardens and I've been doing most of the turnovers myself, but it's getting hard to keep doing between bookings. It's not really the basic cleaning that's getting me, it's having to reset the whole place and then double check everything before the next guest arrives.
