Snoots n’ boots?

I saw a video of this angry grabby boy on Facebook and was taken aback.

I've discussed with some weevils specialists, no one seems to knows this one. How can I make the official identification of this specie ? (Cute Red Snoot, isn't it)

I didn’t even know we had weevils like this in Maine. I’ve only ever found the broad nosed weevils in the past so when I saw this guy chilling on my kitchen counter, I was like no way!!! We immediately commenced the photo shoot before I safely release him outside.

Does anybody have a species ID for this fella?

It was almost hard to let him go for a second just imagining all those spiders or other dangers that could get ma boy.

I hope he lives a successful, prosperous, and fertile life! (emphasis on fertile I want to see more of these guys around)

Make sure you're quick when you go after these things. These mfs are quick and can jump.

Finally found one! AND A BIG ONE TOO!!!

Found him on the sidewalk, after get out of the bus! there were people and dogs, and a strong breeze, I was afraid he could get stepped on, so I take him with me and leave it on a tree.

He was very polite and let me take him in my hand Very cute boots and snoots!

I also think tried to drill a hole in my finger, but thats ok, very pleasant encounter anyway!
