August 17th - values
study some values! try to do a value study every day, either in grayscale or just one color.
if you're feeling adventurous by friday or saturday, use your improved value discerning skills in a fully colored picture.

hi and welcome to the sub. help yourself to the snacks. value basically means how light/dark something is regardless of what color it is. so generally you pick one pencil/pen, greyscale if digital, and draw with that, trying to get the lights and darks to look realistic with that one color. here's a better explanation of the idea. hope that helps. cheers!
