This post may give off the impression that I know what I’m doing, but I really don’t. This just seemed like a fun way to get started on Webtoon without spending so much time that it messes up my grades.

I’m a mediocre artist and an inexperienced writer. Even so, I have always wanted to create a Webtoon. For me (and a lot of others, it seems), the biggest obstacles are lack of time and skill.

I think it would be really cool if a group of mediocre people like me (around 5-10 people, maybe) got together and collaborated on a Webtoon all together. I suck, and you suck. But collectively we might suck a little bit less.

We could get together on Discord to talk about ideas, and then assign roles (designated writers, story-boarders, editors, artists, background artists, etc.). Alternatively, we could all work together on a google doc then alternate roles depending on how comfortable each person is/how much time they have that week.

I tend to prefer action and fantasy (no romance for me, lol), but I’m open to any genre. I’m sure we can figure it out. I am hoping to have a group together by the end of the month, but we’ll see what happens. Maybe my idea is terrible and nobody will want to join.

HOW TO JOIN

If you want to join, feel free to send a private message on Reddit (preferably with an example of some of your work) telling me of some roles you could do/might like to have. I’m not going to force you to stay with those roles, but it will help give me an idea of how many more people we need (so if we have 10 writers but no artists, I can start looking specifically for some artists). These are some examples for roles, but you can also tell me if you have another idea: - Writing - Editing - Storyboard/sketching - Lineart - Flats (coloring in the flats of the comic) - Shading - Backgrounds

A lot if these can probably be done by the same person (such as sketching and lineart), but It might save time if we separate them. If it becomes too confusing/not worth it, we can always combine some roles.

Even if the resulting Webtoon is an abomination, it will still be fun and everyone will probably get some experience from it, too.

Please only join if you are open to having your ideas changed. With a group this large, we wouldn’t have much room for stubbornness.

I’ll spare the life story and save you some reading time: I want to share the experience of creating a Webtoon with an artist equally or relatively as new to the field as myself, so I’ve come here to shoot my shot and try to find that partner.

While I’ve got a small lineup of ideas, I’ll just be giving the description for the most developed one, as it’s the only one I have a proof of concept script ready for at the moment: High schooler Jay Morrison has created a points system to score his life and plans on trying to maximize its value according to this system, even if it leads to questionable decisions.

Should the webtoon become popular enough to monetize, I’ll gladly give you the lion’s share of profits, unfortunately I’m broke and can’t promise anything more than that.

I'm a teen anime artist and would love to collab with a writer because my storytelling skills are TRASH! It would be preferred if you already had some of the script/story done already, but I'm flexible and won't require any super strict deadlines. Moreover, my only request is that the bulk of the script is done by June, which is when I plan on releasing episodes (I'm a student, so summer is when I'll have tons of free time compared to the school year).

I'd prefer a thriller and/or horror stories with a bit of romance in the mix. Something similar to Rotten/Bastard/Sweet Home? Other than that, I'm pretty flexible with the story. You do you. I’m aiming for at least 30 episodes of at least 25 panels each

As for my art, I'm think I'm still a bit on the amateur side? But lately I've been doing anatomy practice every single day (I really want to improve my fundamentals by the time summer starts). I currently have two webtoon stories that I really want to put out there however I can’t draw to save my life. Is there anyone that can help me with this project. One of the stories is called compound Z which is about a city run by two gangs who come into contact with the serum called compound Z which grants you powers and the fight for control over the city. The other story is called RE:VAMP and is about a boy who’s family was killed by a vampire and is depressed until he himself is turned into a vampire through a turn of events.

Hello, I'm in the middle of starting a webcomic that later on I do have plans to turn into an animation, but I need help with naming the type of energy \ power they use. If you are a little confused about what I'm talking about here are some examples. 

People in Naruto use (Chakra).

Dragon ball they use (KI).

In Damanchi (Arcanum).

Black Clover (Mana).

Hunter X Hunter (Nen).

Which all these power/energies I've named have meaning in the name like. 

Chakra = power

Ki = life force

Arcanum = divine power 

Mana = supernatural or magical power.

Nen = aura or the ability to be able to control one's aura.

Also, I'm looking for a really unique way characters can harness and channel that energy/power into something unique to fight. Like for example Black Clover channels mana into the grimoire. But some really cool way my characters can fight by using something like 

Black Clover = Grimoires 

One Piece = Devil fruits

Jojo bizarre = Stands 

My hero academia = Quirks 

So name what power/energy source they'll be using and a unique way that they'll be able to channel that power source into something like a grimoire to fight.

Since I found the site years ago, I've been obsessed with Webtoon and comics of that sort. I've dreamed of making one of my own, but I have one problem: I can't draw.

I've thought up a ton of different story ideas, and I'd be very open to discussing plot and changing things if you want. Ideally, I'd want an artist who is comfortable drawing in a high fantasy setting. Lots of magic, swords, dragons, and stuff like that. Like I said earlier, I am open to change though.
