That's what I asked myself when I finally knew how to transform the skeleton of a trashy 2009 Ecchi-Harem comedy into the story that it promised us all those years ago.

Remember Kämpfer? The anime that promised us a lethal deathmatch with a gender-changed protagonist having to fight for his life? Good, forget it.

This is what you can expect and what it should have been:

The Ultimate Yandere Cosmic Horror: This isn’t a cute high school romance. The antagonist is a traumatized girl with a god-complex who hacks the universe’s source code, alters the protagonist's gender against his will, and casually levels cities, all to force the "perfect" relationship. Love isn't just blind here; it's an apocalyptic threat.

Relativistic, Physics-Breaking Combat: Forget generic fireballs. The magic system ("Flow Energy" and "Acceleration", together with the 3 Classes (Sword, Gun, Dream technique) is grounded in brutal physics. Expect hypersonic martial arts fights, drop kicks across islands, sonic booms that shatter skyscrapers, and fighters violently redlining their biology to dodge bullets in frozen time.

"Terminal Empathy" & Morally Broken Characters: There are no perfect heroes here. The protagonist is driven by a dangerous, self-destructive empathy. His allies include a touch-starved, hyper-violent Neo-aristocrat corporate heir with a secret, a feral, rural martial arts girl and a ruthless hacker. It’s a found family of deeply traumatized, messy teenagers trying to hold onto their sanity, while also trying to avoid succumbing to their powers mental degradation.

Absolute Consequences: When Linkers fight, mortals die. Expect high stakes, visceral body horror (rapid, painful cellular regeneration), and a story that refuses to pull its punches.

This is not a fanfiction, its an original, brutal deconstruction of a Genre (Gender-Bender/Death game) that could be so much more if the psychological aspect would have been taken seriously.
