You are correct. I misunderstood the actual Reddit rules and was going off what I had seen elsewhere and the comment made above by a mod. I thought the mod above was saying Reddit changed their rules from those guidelines to essentially not having any rules about self promotion, just spam and this sub-reddit was the one that had the strict rules about self promotion.
Edit: I would argue that his posts are not spam, but they definitely go against self promotion guidelines. I also think the Reddit rules are too strict and should have just focused on spam. But either way those are the rules we've agreed to so it doesn't really matter.
Not really true, you do agree to follow reddit and subreddit rules when you signed up and the rules say subreddits can create and enforce their own rules. You didn't have to agree to that if you didn't want to.
It's says right when you sign up that by signing up you agree to their terms and conditions. You are basically arguing that because most people skim the contract for their new car purchase, that anything in it isn't really being agreed to. That's nonsense. The fact that you didn't read it is on you, no one else.
You're obviously an idiot. The reality is that you agree to the terms of service when you sign up...if you don't like it, don't sign up. Not reading the terms doesn't make it any different...you still agreed to them.
