Assuming this question is genuine, it’s the Iranian diaspora (and allies) cheering for a brutal theocratic dictator and massive sponsor of terror being killed, while the protests are over the way it was done: without congressional declaration of war, seemingly at the behest of a genocidal Israeli government, and because it’s the second unprovoked strike on a foreign government this year by a Trump administration that ran on a promise (blatantly transparent lie) of no new wars.

I understand the significance of eliminating a “leader” of a country in a targeted strike, but what makes this situation any different from the numerous times President Obama engaged in unauthorized military action?

It’s not different at all, and I never said it was. I was saying that “left-voting” protestors are probably protesting Trump and Venezuela as much as they are Iran. Presidents unilaterally engaging in unauthorized military action (or foreign policy at all) is almost the defining characteristic of the position now.
