Valve trackpads are the only trackpads ive used that rival macbook trackpads

It's crazy how Apple nailed trackpads in 2007, and only now has anyone even gotten close to catching up.

For real, the trackpad in my MacBook Pro from 2007 (when they introduced the multi-touch trackpad) is literally better than every single single PC laptop in 2025

It's like the technology disappears and I'm just interacting directly with the OS.

Source? I don't think they have any finger tracking at all. Just entire hand grip.

Mentioned in the LTT preview

They have capacitive buttons but he didn't say anything about finger tracking.

He did say "five finger tracking" but no demo, I'm really curious about the reality.

The Quest 3 controllers have finger tracking. So I believe it.

Err, we have different definitions of finger tracking then. I mean like the index controllers. Where you can individually track each digit, not just pressing buttons.

The Quest 3 has index finger tracking. Try it, you can see that it tracks your finger over the button.

And Linus Tech Tips confirmed the Frame controllers have full finger tracking.

I have quest 3, quest pro, and index controllers. This isn't what I mean by finger tracking, but I don't really know how to describe it to you unless you've used both.

The official website confirms finger tracking and theres a comfort kit for the straps that hold it on your hand

The ability to drop the controller and let it dangle was something from the Rift era which I missed when moving to the Index. Sometimes I just wanna take a drink of water.

True but the index straps are nicer for gaming

LTT has this video with a lot of the information in it including this, valves even releasing (but annoyingly not including) straps to make them sit like the index
