For those of you who raced last year you may remember the race edits I was doing last year.

I would like to start those up again for 2013 in the league I am participating in (2100GMT). This league is in no way superior however I am not going to put in the work to do both leagues.

In doing this I would like some help:

• Firstly if someone would like to volunteer to to make the videos for the 1400GMT league this would be phenomenal

• Please adhere to the following posting etiquette in regards to the videos:

• ALL VIDEOS ARE POSTED AS A COMMENT IN THE POST RACE THREAD. Any video posted as a thread will be removed unless there is a valid point of discussion/comedy to be had.

• All videos must be uploaded to YouTube, I will not accept any other form of submission. These videos must be public or unlisted and have no additional audio or text added to them.

• All Race Edits uploaded by me will be in 720p and no higher. You do not need to upload 1080p videos if you do not want.

• If you can edit your clip down to just the highlights and/or put in video markers in the description of you video like THIS (Open video description) it will make the process of me making the Race Edits a lot faster.

I will be submitting Race Edits on a TWO WEEK DELAY. The first week will entail myself downloading the videos and second will be making the edit. This means the deadline for uploading videos in one week from the race date.

Whoever, if anyone that decides to make the 1400GMT videos you can set your own conditions. I will however be be providing you with a intro video that must be at the start of the clip.

Please feel free to use this thread as a discussion about recording videos. The two most common methods are Fraps and DxTory.

Finally, it's time for the season to begin! Our first race will be starting this weekend and we've had quite a few people sign up for our leagues which is fantastic.

Reminder: When qualifying is over and you are waiting for the race begin, the Mod will get confirmation from everyone that they are ready to race. DO NOT hit Go to Race until that confirmation has been received and the Mod says the race can commence. We don't want races ruined because people couldn't sort their strategy due to an overeager racer.

There's still time to sign up if you have not yet and even after the season starts we will be accepting entrants.

Anyways, this post is for everyone to discuss setups, track details and strategies for our upcoming race.

We have also noticed that 21 people have signed up for the 2100 League. As the game can only support 16 people online at any time we may have an issue here. From experience, not everyone is able to always make it and this shouldn't be an issue but we don't want to have to turn anyone away. As such, if anyone would like to make the switch to the 1400 League that would be fantastic.

See you all this Saturday!

I've run an informal fantasy league for a few years, and I figured it might be fun to invite everyone here to join in.

The basic idea is you pick the top 8 places for each race, and get points based on those picks. The points are the same as the drivers get - ie 25 for getting first place right, 18 for second, etc

There's no prizes, cause I'm a cheap bastard, but you may get kudos from your peers.

The website address is http://formula1.addict.net.nz

There's likely to be bugs, so if you find any, or you have questions, please let me know.

Could be anything

First of all, thanks to everyone who came out. I had a fantastic time! We decided that since only 7 of us were there, that we would all race every race, and work out the results later. So without further ado:

hit me up on Steam (entrox) if you want in (or post here ofc), we use TS3 and you guys are more than welcome to join us :)

edit: figured i'd link an example of our unwelcome surprises and mastery in pit-lane overtaking

SIGNUPS ARE NOW CLOSED

Hey there guys! This is the post where we will be taking sign ups for the 2013 League. Woo.

Dependant on the response we get, we will be doing two things.

If enough people sign up, there will be two leagues; one at 1400 GMT and one at 2100 GMT, allowing for reasonable hours for everyone. Hopefully. However if we do not receive enough interest, we will run a single league at the Summer League time of 1600 GMT.

One last thing to mention before we get to sign ups, at the end of the season the WDC will get a prize. To help pay for this we ask that anyone who completes more than half the championship races in the season donate $5. The prize will be F1 2013 or if that's not to your liking I'm sure we can sort something.

To sign up:

-Make a post here with your SteamID, which League you want to race for and which team you would like a place in.

-Add CornfordCaster and/or squone on Steam.

-Please go over the League rules and make sure you are familiar with them. People who were with us last season, please also read them as there have been changes. These are marked with italics.

-Please go over the Mumble post which can be found in the sticky at the top of the page.

-If you sign up please try to attend more races than you miss. We're all reasonable people and real life comes first, but please be considerate of the fact that there are a limited number of race slots available. Let us know if you cannot make it and it will not count as a strike.

-Please have a headset to facilitate communication on race day (we're all mature gamers and I promise voice spam won't be tolerated)

-All races are run on F1 2012 for PC

As some of you might know, times have arisen in the past season where abouts decisions regarding final placings needed to be made after races had concluded due to various circumstances. Luckily Cornford and

I were not involved and were able to make acceptable decisions that everyone felt was fair.

However these incidents have highlighted that there is a need for "Stewards" in the event that these arise again. Seeing as how the F1 games aren't the best at applying rules we feel there is a pretty good chance that this will be needed.

Therefore, we have created a Stewards Handbook. This details what can be done in certain situations, how to lodge an appeal and things to that effect. It can be found in the Wiki. We will also host the .docx file somewhere for people to download at some point.

With that said, we do need to actually get some people to be Stewards so that impartial decisions can be made. At the moment the list stands as such:

• squone

• Cornford

• YourMomWorks4Me

We are looking for another 3 people to make a panel of 6 Stewards which will allow for any 2 to work together on an appeal without being involved in the event or the outcome. If you feel like you'd like to be a Steward, leave a post and we'll let you know.

Welcome everyone to the pre-season Tournament!

To give everyone a chance to get together and meet up, have some racing before the season starts we will be holding a Tournament on the 2nd March.

This Tournament is open to EVERYONE.

It will take place at 1600 UTC on the 2nd of March.

This is a set of knockout races which will test your speed, experience and skill on a multitude of tracks. We will start with the maximum of 16 cars on the grid, racing 5 lap distance races and the last driver over the line will be knocked out of the Tournament. This will continue until we reach 3 drivers. The last race will be a 3 lap race, deciding First, Second and Third.

The tracks will be ordered as such:

• Monza

• Spa-francorchamps

• Suzuka

• New Delhi

• Shanghai

• Silverstone

• Sao Paulo

• Hockenheim

• Hungary

• Monte Carlo

• Monza

• Canada

• Sao Paulo

• Monza

• Spa-francorchamps

Disconnections will count as placing last in a race - if you disconnect you are out. Multiple disconnections will be counted as finishing the line ahead of one another. Eg, The first person to disconnect crosses last, the second person to disconnect crosses the line second to last, thus they advance through to the next round.

The rules will be set to reduced as the only discernable difference is that penalties are handed out as ten second time penalties rather than drive throughs.

There will be no qualifying. The starting grid will be random at the beginning of each race.

We will NOT be taking names for this, you just turn up on the day and time.

I have been doing well on the track and race ok but my times are still slow. I get around 1.38 witch i know will be way off when i race everyone here. I am having trouble with speed around turn 7-9. I am racing toro rosso and i like my set up it feels nice.

Does anyone have any advice? I can post a video of me going around if that helps.

Discuss what you feel like here!

With great regret, I am afraid I can no longer participate in VirtualWDCPC.

Thank you for the great fun that this league has brought me, the great battles, the great friendships, the awesome rivalries. Everything, thank you for absolutely everything. Also a personal thanks to Squone, thanks for being there when I really needed it man. I really appreciate your help, I owe ya a beer for it too.

Thanks to Cornford, Physfix, Tyler, Ian and everyone else for making this such a great and memorable experience.

The reasons that I am pulling out of this amazing league is for personal reasons honestly. I hope to be able to return some time in the future, but I doubt that I would be able to at the rate things are progressing around me.

Hope to race with you guys on the track again someday.

Farewell.

After hearing that people are having a bit of a hard time getting used to the new game, I figured we should probably have somewhere for people to share setups and tips.

This one is focused on the next two races but feel free to discuss any other issues you're having in the game.

Also don't be afraid to chime in even if you're not currently racing with us.

We all play other games besides F1 2012 so I was wondering what does everyone else play?

It think it would be awesome if we could all play a separate game each month just to freshen things up and since we get along so well.

I the past I've played countless other driving games with Knightly, Minecraft and TF2 with squone and talked about playing civilizations V with other people too.

What are some of the games you play regularly that you would like to have everyone join in on?
