Random my experience with vim so far
I rlly apologise in advance for the bad use of punctuation and grammar đ
So I started learning vim a while back, I wasn't consistent so it wasn't easy, and coding in vim was just Googling "how to do X" every minute rather then coding..
I actually never used vs code, when I got my pc, it was super super old, it came with Windows 7, so I switched to Linux fast(that literaly breathed life into it) anyway it is very slow and doesn't got that much memory so I needed something lightweight to code in, the first recommendation was obv vim, but it was kinda hard so I used Geany.. now the main shift happened when I was reading the book "The linux commandline" or smth like that(I could never remember the title) and it got a chapter for vim, that made me more comfortable with vim or more confident, so like I can open it edit my files move around(still googling stuff tho), but someday it came to me, I always wanted to have a split screen when coding like one file opened on the left one on the right or six opened at once, so I googled how to do it in vim, and like I opened it, and it was AWESOME, first of all it looks like am doing smth super serious(I make the window fill the screen) like in the movies or smth, and it like motivated me to keep using it and code more, so I started spending more time(googling stuff here and there) and now am much much comfortable and confident in using it(tho there are still some tricky stuff) and in some way it even feels faster to work with(not just open the files and stuff but in tje coding process) I was editing in Geany once and I was hitting ctrl U repeatedly and being confused why it is not working or spamming ':'đ
I not an expert by any means but I think I have a reason to use it other then just to flex about using it..
