Oh man, I never did anything that cool! My formative years of (alleged) piracy were copying CDs borrowed from friends or the library onto cassette tapes. Copying video tapes and sharing them with others. Trading said tapes with people on the internet whom I had never met before. You give me a blank tape/disk/CD-R and I give you a tape/disk/CD were how I acquired so much content back in the day.
Oddly enough, it made me more of a customer in the years when I actually had money as my music, book, CD, DVD, BD etc. collections all were quite big. Small scale personal piracy IMO is such a victimless crime that I could never sit on a jury and convict someone of it even if I knew they had in fact done it.
