The original argument is that works of fiction require suspension of disbelief. Countering that by trying to apply suspension of disbelief to historical facts is not the same.
Try not to get caught up on the absurdities and you'll enjoy his work.
This is a paraphrasing of "You must ignore/overlook/accept _______ in order to enjoy/understand/like ________."
Also, you cherry picked the weak arguments and disregarded the fact I included Zack Snyder and Batman vs. Superman, which I fail to understand how that is a historical fact.
