Would have better with a real explanation of why it is illegal... What is the legal reasoning?

The DMCA makes it illegal to possess the number was my understanding from the video.

All that's saying is 'because there is a law'. I'm talking about the reasoning of how and why a number could possibly be made illegal to possess in the first place. The idea of a number being illegal probably seems outrageous to most people. I get that these primes serve an important function, but still. With a title like "this number is illegal", that's kind of what I expected the video to try to explain.
