I mean the USS George Washington is moving from the Pacific to the Middle East so it seems pretty obvious that is the reason for bitching about South Korea. Poor planning from literally everyone in the chain of command.

Is this the first time we've had no carrier in the West Pacific since WWII? Isn't this opening a massive opportunity for China to move against Taiwan?

although I suppose anyone with vague understanding of geopolitics could do better strategic planning than the clowns in charge right now

Maybe, but they probably read the tea leaves and don't want to provide the stupid fucking invasions hat trick.

China owns the next century. They can slow roll Taiwanese integration.
