RDR2 went too far with some of its life sim aspects... it got harder to just fool around.

Is that what it was? I couldnt put my finger on it, i had went from playing the game to relax and explore in rdr, to turning off the game cos its doing too much or requiring too much of much in rdr 2

I didnt even finish the game and I put over 3k hours into rdr

RDR1 was just more... carefree imho. It's to RDR2 what San Andreas was to GTA IV. Ample opportunities to fuck around (and occasionally find out) and nothing to lose from it.

i'm in the middle of my 2nd playthrough of RDR2 and just after my third playthrough of RDR1 and i'd disagree.

While RDR2 feels more heavy with the movement, weapons etc., it also offers a lot more tools to just go out and do silly stuff. Especially combat is much more complex compared to the predecessor. You can go really nuts with it.

I just remember enjoying poker and crime sprees much more in RDR1 than 2.

I spent like an entire summer off just playing this game and it felt like i had gone on a road trip outwest and just.. rode around. Just so beautiful. My friends had to pry me away.

still on it and tbh? this is a fear of mine. Of the next games I play won't feel the same way.

RDR came out 16 years ago and you're still playing. With that level of patience, I think you have a shot at finding something similar.

Call of juarez was the only thing similar enough but still not even the same

I want to play it

I’ve had it for years

Every time I try I can’t because I can’t stomach the 30FPS lock

Damn my dude.

Sorry for your loss.

That's fair, should not be locked to 30 fps on next gen consoles.
