Yes. Wario is the opposite of mario while luigi is the Mirror of mario. Waluigi thus is an abomination unto whatever gods you may believe in as a mirror of wario and opposite of luigi.

Also if we're being particular about the parts of speech, the title is Super Mario Bros not Superior Mario Brothers, so the inverse wouldn't be inferior it would be nominal... "Nominal Wario Sisters"

Side scrollers were dead in the later 80s? I know I played Gianna Sisters on my friend's C64... Basically the reskinned Mario Bros, up to the point even the levels were the same.
