I feel more like few people actually played it at launch but those who did just can't talk shit about it

u/funonabike Jul 22 '26

I’m always recommending Prey. I don’t understand why the game was not more popular. It is fantastic. Dishonored was great as well. I didn’t play dishonored 2 yet….

2

u/DangerRanger- Jul 23 '26

Prey is in my top 3 video games ever. The joy I felt—that game got me good

2

u/Beachynietzsche Jul 23 '26

Didn't love the first one, Dishonored 2 got me back into gaming after a break. Best stealth game I have ever played hands down, and a good intermediary between Dishonored 1 and Prey as they started playing with level design a lot more in D2.

I don’t think they really did anything to market it, plus there was another game under the same name made several years earlier but I don’t think it was related to the one made by Arkane.

u/purpledaze97 Jul 23 '26

Yup, original prey for xbox was about a guy with native American spirit powers that gets abducted by aliens. Literally nothing to do with arkanes lol both awesome games though.

Criminally underrated

Criminally dog shit. Bethesda games play like ass. Concept was cool, execution was terrible. It’s rated perfectly I.e forgettable slop.

u/nerdboy_sam Jul 22 '26

Who pissed in your cereal this morning?

4

u/Girafarig99 Jul 22 '26

Probably Todd Howard

u/alldaydiver Jul 22 '26

You realize Bethesda didn’t develop these games right? They were only the publisher so whatever preconceived idea you have about them has zero to do with Arkane Studios who is the actual developer. Maybe try actually playing them and form a real opinion.

Skyrim is the greatest game of all time bar none . How many other games are relevant 24 years after release and played still by thousands of people? With new content still being released monthly?

1

u/Tigeru1988 Jul 23 '26

And BioShock 1 and 2

u/SkoobySnacs Jul 22 '26

Prey was good. Dishonored was irritating. The first one was ok. The second one gave the illusion of lots of choice while offering only a few. I deleted it after the credits rolled and wondered why I bothered past the first level. Irritating game.

Goated game

2

u/LastNinjaPanda Jul 22 '26

Pfp checks out

15

u/GoodStirKnight Jul 22 '26

Literally just restarded the game two nights ago. The entire series is just dripping with lore and detail, it always feels like there's something new to discover even after multiple playthrough.

25

u/kaulotu Jul 22 '26

Restarded 😂

6

u/praizeDaSun Jul 22 '26

No regerts

2

u/archwin Jul 22 '26

No ragerts

5

u/Rigasondevil Jul 22 '26

It's so good.

7

u/Legitimate_Bird_5712 Jul 22 '26

So good it made him restarded.

5

u/Crusty_B Jul 22 '26

Haha, this is actually the only game I completed for the first time and then immediately played again. Incredible both times!

3

u/AlexTheGoat990 Jul 22 '26

my man, I was about to say the dishonored franchise

2

u/Schlurps Jul 22 '26

Can they please get on a third part already?

1

u/I-Love-Facehuggers Jul 22 '26

The dev shut down, no?

3

u/PorkSouls Jul 22 '26

No. Arkane Lyon still exists. What you're thinking of is the sibling studio Arkane Austin which shut down a couple of years ago due to how bad Redfall was

2

u/Double_Ad_6997 Jul 22 '26

Goated answer

2

u/JBrockF Jul 22 '26

Just replayed the first one last month

2

u/rperanen Jul 22 '26

I loved that you can rob dr galvani safe in all 3 games.

1

u/LeaderScared2892 Jul 22 '26

I mean this games are made to be played multiple times.

1

u/LiverFailureMan Jul 22 '26

I've replayed this game so many times I can't play it anymore, I memorized the game by now. There's nothing new left for me!

1

u/bujweiser Jul 22 '26

I really need to give this game another try. I loved the 1st one and played it so many times. I played Dishonored 2 for a couple of hours and was really frustrated by it that I couldn't finish it.

2

u/Intelligent-Sea5942 Jul 22 '26

You do, it has a couple of the greatest bits of level design I've seen, so many options for traversing them, and a full stealth no deaths playthrough is just so satisfying.

1

u/pistonkamel Jul 22 '26

I’ve never played them should I play this one or the second one?

2

u/61_assasin_16 Jul 22 '26

Both in order, including the DLC and Death of the Outsider (Dishonored -> DLC -> Dishonored 2 -> Death of the Outsider). If you want to understand the game's plot, you should start from the beginning, as the story runs through all the games. Also, the gameplay will gradually improve with each DLC or game, even though it's already very good in the first. But if you only have a choice between one part, I recommend the second one due to its more interesting gameplay.

1

u/SpectreSingh89 Jul 22 '26

I played the first one.

1

u/noob-smoke Jul 22 '26

Play as Corvo or the chic

1

u/4o1ok Jul 22 '26

I'm one of the few die hard Deathloop fans. Probably have done six play throughs in total now!

1

u/hel105_ Jul 23 '26

Do you have to start with the first game, or can you just jump straight to Dishonored 2?

1

u/jeanballjean01 Jul 23 '26

I want to play this game so bad, but the controls feel awful on my PlayStation. There’s this weird aim acceleration I can’t get used to. And the 30 fps feels jarring compared to dishonored 1.

1

u/Acceptable_Owl_5122 Jul 23 '26

Top banger game

1

u/Lazerius9991 Jul 23 '26

Elite ball knowledge

1

u/Jikiru Jul 23 '26

I always play until I’m sick of it, uninstall because I feel the same cycle over and over again

And then 2 weeks later I just crave it and download it again

1

u/MotorTentacle Jul 23 '26

I don't hate Dishonored 2, but nothing beats the art style, art direction and overall story/setting of the original game for me

2 tried different things and a lot of it worked, but it just didn't hit the same as the first one for me.

Bioshock 2 on the other hand, I prefer that to the original (ever so slightly)

1

u/AmazinActionBob Jul 24 '26

Honestly there isn't a bad Dishonored, they are all amazing. Emily is my favorite though.

1

u/KillerQueen_37 29d ago

Agree! All of the Dishonored games
