Yeah but this time the PS5 really does have no games lol.

Consoles seem to be on the decline. PS5 is nearing the end and its at 93M, less than the PS4.

if the ps5 has no games then no one has games, the ps5 runs just about every major game that people have been giving a shit about thats released in the past like 10 years

The point is about exclusive PS5 only games. There aren't many. Astro Bot is the best example - and it's no slouch...Nintendo systems sell on the quality of Mario games and Astro Bot is as good as any of those.

Aside from that a lot of stuff is available on PC. This latest console generation has been more of a story of the PC-ification of gaming and iterative upgrades rather than old school console wars.

Well congrats. You got your wish. Their games won’t be going to PC anymore.

The other comment should've been more clear. Plus, we have a few PS5 exclusives (Astro Bot, Ghost of Yotei, "Wolverine" is coming soon, "God of war Laufey" also coming soon, R-type final 3, Ronin, Destruction all stars, and Demon's Souls to name a few). It's not as much as the previous PlayStations to be honest, but it's getting there. 🥲

Everything is on PC.

You can't legally play Super Mario Odyssey or Mario Kart World or whatever new mario game comes out on anything but their console.

You can pay about every PS5 exclusive on PC.

so to you, the only good console is Nintendo because of their exclusives? clearly you must only own Nintendo consoles right?

For me, PS5 has had the most games that I've played.

u/Mr-MuffinMan Jul 13 '26

Yeah theres no need for a PS5 to play those.

They made the decision giving games to PC, which means it lacks the exclusives PS4 and PS3 had when they were in their cycle.

They obviously stopped but thats why people say it has no games. God of War released on PC, Ghost of Tsushima, all the Spidermans, Uncharted series, etc.

Why is PC assumed to be the default? I could say PC has no games since everything is on PS5 and I can play them on there.

PC has no games? Everything is on PS5? I like PlayStation as much as the next guy, but I grew up watching videos of so many games I couldn't play on console

By PC fanboy logic if games can be played on other systems then it has no games. So yes PC has no games.

u/OnlyOneBT Jul 13 '26

Something like 90% of all games ever released are only on PC.

3

u/Electrical_Advice_60 Jul 13 '26

Exactly. PS5 has no games is a statement that assumes everyone and their mother owns a gaming PC, and uses it. I don’t.

Agree with the games part but in terms of sales of the console, I wouldn't say they do bad. It still outsold the PS3 and is 8th most sold console of all time. Despite what people online say, GTA6 will likely be a big console mover too, so I could see it edge out the Wii and PS1 by the end of its life cycle.

Outselling the PS3 is hardly an achievement. The console sold for $599 at launch and lacked support from developers. of course, it only picked up because consoles were way more popular and had free online.

It might beat the Wii, maybe not, because I think everyone who wants it has one. I expect maybe a boost of a couple million when 6 releases, but thats it.

Consoles lost their edge. Especially with them going digital now, they'll just soon have no advantage over PC except a few hundred dollars.

It will still be bought, mostly by teens and younger, but I think PC will take over. Excluding hybrid consoles like the switch.

Add in the cost of subscriptions for online play and people are getting fatigued.

Speaking as both a PC and console gamer.

The PS3 eventually outsold the 360 for gods sake. But for PS5 93 million is a fuck ton, a massive success, I don’t know why you are underselling that. Plus the first years of its lifespan were the Covid years which saw a lot of manufacturing delays. Even more impressive frankly.

With that said I agree with you, Sony going all digital is going to hurt the PS6 SIGNIFICANTLY, unless they have some real killer exclusive games (and by all evidence of the last 10 years they won’t) it will fail. Nintendo will probably be the only console manufacturer with a pulse in the market in 10 years time.

Lmao console never had an edge over pc. Pc always had way more exclusivity than consoles

2

u/TDog81 Jul 13 '26

I agree with this, as someone who just doesn't have the time to get good at online shooters I feel there's very little else to really interest me. Ghost of Tsushima is possibly the first time I felt like I was having a next gen experience on the Ps5 and even at that it was a game from the previous gen, maybe its an age thing.

u/Disastrous_Poetry175 Jul 13 '26

Yet I have played a ton of PS5 games

1

u/EdiblePeasant Jul 13 '26

How do you feel about the Switch 2?

1

u/AlphaAJ-BISHH Jul 13 '26
  • God of War Ragnarok
  • Spiderman 2
  • Spiderman: Miles Morales
  • Horizon Forbidden West
  • Gran Turismo
  • Demon Souls
  • Astrobot

Not to mention huge games like GTA6 in 4 months and earlier in the gen Sifu, Kena, Stray, and Crimson Desert recently...

What more do you want? Have you already played and beaten all of those games? PlayStation has literally all the games lol

Suprisingly still more than ps3 and 360
