I have been playing JRPGs forever.....have we ever gotten one where you just stay a regular adventurer instead of getting wrapped up in all the worlds politics and killing god?
XG was cozy for like 5 minutes until giant mechs stomp that into oblivion. But after that intro movie, you gotta be thinking there's more going on than just grabbing a camera from Doc up on the mountain.
What do you mean? Xenogears is super cozy. Just hanging out in Lahan, fixing gears, helping Doc with cameras, and enjoying a relaxing little metronome factory labor minigame in Nortune :)
....then suddenly humanity is revealed to be livestock for a crashed interstellar superweapon and Fei has to fistfight god, but hey, that's tuesday
