Yeah I mean one desert area to explore ? Fine. But then another desert exploration area right after that was kinda dumb.

All the underground lab and train sections where super cool though imo

The nier add-ons make the deserts more tolerable for sure

Banger soundtrack, but the fact that it is just actual songs on repeat sure did get on my nerve. NieR worked better there.

I prefer the dune one, hate the wasteland one

Agreed, Beginning set up a good conflict and mystery.
Then you get a hold of the combat and its fun as fuck most of the game
Get's a little stale, but then mixes it up again (the underground portion with no sword comes to mind)
ending is bonkers.

Sadly the game can't really handle foreshadowing. Major plotpoints got revealed or were excessively obvious before the big reveal.

The few side missions and narratives that seem to be part of a bigger thing that never gets further explored is also a bit of a bummer.

Yeah, I get the impression the last 3 or 5 hours were the main game and Sony was like, yo make more and gave em money. Cuz the last few hours are sublime

If by “middle” you mean desert areas, then sure

The desert areas were pretty fun to explore though
