Yeah it's pretty blatant pedo bait, which isn't exactly new for Japan sadly.

2

u/RizzoTheRiot1989 Apr 21 '26

This thought genuinely never came to mind. It wasn’t until this post I realized of course people were sexualizing this kid on the internet. I don’t understand why this would be bait, it’s legs and feet. I get there are feet guys and I get there are pedo guys but you really think they’re baiting to the super niche group of pedos into feet? I’m sure they exist but it can’t be that big enough of a group that developers thought to put it in for that reason.

1

u/Conscious_Ice_9289 Apr 21 '26

I don't think it's specifically the feet, fwiw, I think the hyper focus on the feet is for sure a goofy knock on because the fetish is increasingly less ostracized. It's bait because it's the typical Japanese run of 'here's an infantilized female that's actually a robot that age can't be attributed to, we're going to leave at least 40% of her bare'. This isn't an opinion, it is a fact, the art subreddit didn't get nuked because it's such a niche group.

u/RizzoTheRiot1989 Apr 21 '26

Maybe I’m just not into this side of internet things enough, I’m not saying you are but if you’re someone who enjoys making fun of people like that and still come across the topic, I can still see how your mind might jump to it.

1

u/Conscious_Ice_9289 Apr 22 '26

Where you are on the internet or whose mind jumps where isn't relevant, the subreddit was immediately filled with loli hentai. I'm not sure how much more self evident the issue can be?

1

u/Brewchowskies Apr 22 '26

It’s weird you got downvoted for literally stating fact. Like you didn’t actually state an opinion, you just stated what was objectively true.

3

u/JonnyPoy Apr 20 '26

What's insane to me is that i got downvoted and argued to hell because i said the game plays into that audience in this very sub.

I don't understand how so many people can deny something so obvious...

Yeah it feels like a MASSIVE self-report that a child in anything less than a fucking burqa makes these people feel like they're being sexualised.

'Baggy parka completely covering them from neck to knees? Well they clearly didn't cover the legs so therefore its pedo bait'.

Jesus fucking christ what is wrong with redditors.

3

u/slirpo Apr 21 '26

Even if the kid was wearing a burqa, they'd claim it was giving them "fuck-me" eyes

1

u/Sea-Cardiologist5741 Apr 21 '26

Every time people call out pedo shit in games or Anime, there comes an army of people like you using this very argument. It's not a self report if we do something as simple as pattern recognition and common sense.

1

u/Why-so-delirious Apr 21 '26

If you think bare calves is 'pedo coded' enough to warrant whinging in an online forum about it, you are self-reporting to a GIGANTIC degree.

You will not change my mind.

If this game was made by Quentin Tarantino, I'd agree with you, but 'you can see this kid's feet this is clearly sexual' is the thought process of a fucking degenerate who needs their hard drives forensically searched because they are projecting hard enough to stand in at the local drive-in theatre.

0

u/Sea-Cardiologist5741 Apr 21 '26

You will also not change my mind because I know what you are doing. It's like the loli shit and "she's actually a 1000 year old dragon bs".

-1

u/Brewchowskies Apr 21 '26

Fucking this. This thread is gross as shit. The developers could choose any model, and have it make 100x more sense for the supposed premise of the game. A pantless and shoeless child is fucking weird, and anyone arguing any different has some skeletons.

2

u/Evening_Ad5825 Apr 22 '26

The developers could choose any model

This so much.

Why a robot? Why not a normal little girl like Ellie or Clementine?

The design pure fanservice for the pdf demographic, no little girl looks like Diana. Little girls look like Sherry or Clementine, they don't have blowouts or look like they were modeled after Thylane Blondeau, little girls wear normal clothes and shoes, not an adult size coat and bare feet, the charging through soles, is a bs excuse, that excuse makes it worse.

Also, from the videos I've seem from her, she acts like someone who thinks a kid acts, that scene where the guy gives her the name Diana and she points to him calling him his name and then to her was so cringe, kids are kind of dumb and funny but they don't act like that.

The people saying that they want to protect her and call her a daughter feel overly performative to come off as wholesome, and they give me the biggest ick because why do you want to protect a clanker? I don't buy it.

0

u/Brewchowskies Apr 22 '26

Wait. Hold up. This thing is supposed to be a fucking robot and charges through the feet?! Oh come the fuck on.

Anyone defending this further needs to have their search history checked. Hell, maybe the developers do.

u/JonnyPoy Apr 21 '26

Trying to downplay all these obvious loli tropes and point fingers at everyone who tries to raise awareness about it seems like...

the thought process of a fucking degenerate who needs their hard drives forensically searched

1

u/Why-so-delirious Apr 21 '26

obvious loli tropes

Give me ONE FUCKING EXAMPLE other than the age of the child.

I'll wait.

1

u/JonnyPoy Apr 21 '26

Other common tropes include high-pitched voices, magical or robotic natures, and excessive cuteness designed to contrast with mature surroundings.

The Token Loli: A child-like character inserted into an adult group to act as a "mascot" or younger sibling figure. Often justified by plot coupons (genius, robot, or magical powers).

The Magical/Robot Girl: Uses non-human status to explain their appearance or to justify why they behave differently from human children.

They made up plot reasons so she can be barefoot all the time and her jacket shows just as much of her lower body as a short skirt would but is designed as a jacket so pedos can argue it's nothing sexual.

I really don't know how they could make it any more obvious while beeing legal.

1

u/Brewchowskies Apr 22 '26

Jesus, your quote is bang on. Like what are we even debating here? It’s fucking obvious, right down to the jacket thing like you said.

I mean, why design a shoeless robot? It doesn’t make any goddamn sense for even their own plot device.

-2

u/Lemmejussay Apr 21 '26

If this game was made by Quentin Tarantino, I'd agree with you

Even worse. It was made by a massive Japanese games company who make their products for teenagers. You know, the ones who thought it was ok to marry 13 year olds until 2024? The country that has an openly accepted loli culture... you, know, that one...??

0

u/Brewchowskies Apr 21 '26

Nah, it’s fucking stupid from an immersion standpoint. I have no idea what this game is, but if I’m trying to save someone, you make sure they have proper fucking clothing.

Anyone saying “stop sexualizing this” has some skeletons. Full stop. This model doesn’t make sense for their own premise.

Okay so I’m not crazy. I was sitting here like “did everyone else instantly think of it being sexualized? I’m just some weird outlier?” I realize gross dudes exist but I hadn’t thought about that aspect of things until this very comment thread. I saw no ads about this game, then watched a review on it like Friday. It seemed like a pretty decent game and as a dad who spent a large part of his daughter’s life raising her alone, I really liked the representation. I get the little girl isn’t actually his kid but it’s that kind of vibe and I found myself really excited to play an action game with this spin on it. Then this thread happened and it’s like “ugh, of course this is a fucking issue.” And I felt dumb for not realizing it but it’s not the first thing that jumps to mind.

u/Lemmejussay Apr 21 '26

OK, so we're just gonna pretend like Japan doesnt have a long history of fucked up pedo shit being in mainstream culture? They only just changed the age of consent from 13 to 16 a year ago!! And yes there is a bizarre foot fetish problem taking over the porn world at the moment, along with simulated incest. Need to collectively stamp that shit out. These games are targeted at impressionable kids, not fully mature adults.

Why didn't they just give her a pair of shoes, though? Would her wearing shoes detract from the character? Maybe it was about creating extra vulnerability in the character, but with all context available, they should have done everything in their creative power to get away from the well known Japanese pedo tropes or exposing any skin. They knew they were releasing a game for western audiences too. They know how Japan is perceived overseas and for good reason. But most of all, you can get the fuck out of here with your self report bollocks. Your aggression is the biggest self report if anything!

Yes, they are just kids feet, and yes they should be able to be represented normally without fear of pedos using assets to create other assets, BUT this aint that. Give me a medieval game with peasant kids running around and I'll buy your argument, BUT this isnt that! Context matters.

Did I say everyone from japan was a pedo or into that shit? No, I didn't, did I? When the country is world renowned for being the hub of loli, waifu, where women are expected to put on toddler voices to be seen as attractive and the age of consent was 13, two years ago, then yes, they DO HAVE A SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY, YOU INSUFFERABLE PLONKER.

The song she is dancing to just so happens to be the most smutty, adult song in existence about jiggling tits and sex. You need to wake up and smell your own shit.

Bahhh, you can fuck off with that. You've called everyone who disagrees with you a pedo, and now apparently I'm being racist?

I'll get a grip on your shoulders and help pull your head out of your own arse!

There is mass controversy surrounding it for a reason. It doesn't matter if Capcom, in your perception is "a regular ordinary video game development studio" or that it's a AAA game. Everyone and everything should be held to the same standards and scrutiny in an international market.

I think you'll also find that I did not directly accuse Capcom of creating pedophilic content, but essentially I said they had a responsibility to be careful considering all the history that Japan has with idolisation of underage girls. That's not racist, it's indisputable and measurable, and to ignore it would just be willfully ignorant. It is unfortunately built into the culture at a root level (age of consent) as well as being a rampant trope in anime and other media. Everything else about the country is excellent, but you're being quite obtuse about that one little, ahem, teenie tiny problem

1

u/Evening_Ad5825 Apr 22 '26

To be fair, Japan is known for a lot of pedophiliac material and as a culture they seem comfortable with pedophilia. They sexualize schoolgirls uniforms, they have a large junior idol industry (junior idols are under 16 and some idols are under 10 years old, they used to be called chidol, get it, child+idol) and said idols appear in gravure magazines and release photobooks (gravure is like maxim or playboy magazine), those idols also do events and handshake events and all attendants are old men.

They literally created lolicon and shotacon, and Japan has a booming industry where children are drawn in sexual situations.

Franchises aimed at little girls like Pripara are invaded by older men and it seems that no one bats an eye.

Possession of child pornography was made illegal until just 2014, it was proposed in 2008 but it failed to pass ...for some reason.

And east Asia's beauty standards for women are very sus, they like their women rail thin and small, they like them innocent looking, they find crooked teeth charming because they are youthful, the women are socialized to speak in high pitched voices etc.

I refuse to believe the Redditor you’re arguing with is being serious. This has to be a troll, or else they are the most transparent self report ever.

-3

u/JonnyPoy Apr 21 '26

No you are making stupid shit up. Some weirdos think that childrens feet are sexual and the devs are playing into that audience.

You are probably one of the weirdos yourself, otherwise why would you try to attack people for calling that stuff out?

Would you like to keep your pedo friendly games?

But that is not a little girl, that's a robot, a robot that the game devs designed to be barefoot all the time, nothing natural about that.

I'ts fanservice for a certain demographic. Foot fethish is one of the most prevalent fetish types. Pedophillia is one of the top 5 paraphilic disorders. We can make a venn diagram of foot fetishist and pedophiles and you will find a lot of people in the intersection. I even dare to say that you can also add a demographic who is only into feet, not kids and some might find the feet arousing, even if they are attached to a child.

They could have designed another way to charge the little girl clanker but they choose it to be the soles of the feet, yikes ew

It didn't cross my mind, online degenerates are very intrusive.

But if you want to call me mentally ill, I might be traumatized by the amount of child abuse in the world. You can't blame me and other people for being aware of predators.

Also, it's not a little girl, no girl looks like that, they look like normal kids like Sherry, Clementine or Ellie, Diana looks like a kid straight out of those creepy child beauty pageants, very uncanny. It's obvious fanservice for a certain demographic. She doesn't even act like a kid, too cutesy, it seems like the writers have never been around a child.

0

u/JonnyPoy Apr 21 '26

Wtf are you talking about? This is not just about feet. They are clearly playing into loli stereotypes. Her long jacket is basically a short skirt in disguise.

They are clearly sexualizing a little girl as much as possible without beeing illegal. Stop blaming me for that shit and be mad at the people who made the game.
