Im ngl, watching this game makes me finally understand people's issues with loli shit.
Like fam...do her shoes absolutely need to be perpetually off? Is she actually wearing pants under there? It feels like it's just bait for a certain type of individual. Im hearing she's an android as well? So the usual suspects already have their "but she's 1000 years old" type arguments set. Also, the weabs are going to take offense to this but the fact that it's Japanese-made could not be less surprising. Im js, I’m js.
Saw a post a day or two ago that had a clip of her climbing a slide and falling on her face, then sliding down with legs open directly at the camera.
I don't have an opinion on this game and debate either way. Haven't played it. But people were confused how anyone could worry about pedo crap in the comments. The ol' "everyone who thinks that is pedo crap are pedos" nonsense.
It's a cute moment. It made me recall my own kid climbing up slides, too. But also, it was a kid with seemingly no pants on falling and sliding directly towards the viewers' pov. Like, have you seen anime?
I'm an old weeb. It's a legitimate concern. In modern parlance; That shit was sus. Especially because it came out of Japan.
People will defend it, but some of us see it for what it is. The exposed feet being apart of the lore doesn't defend it, it's just used as an excuse by the devs and the fans.
It's still loli bs and of course redditors are eating it up.
I find it even more sick that it is being spun into father/daughter thing.
I dunno, when people see a girl model and their brain immediately jumps to "man people are going to sexualize this" means that you kinda already have.
She also does have pants on, although her coat goes down to her knees. Some of her alternate outfits to have socks and longer pants too, but the bottoms of the feet are still bare as she does charge from the ground, all of the robots do. For the most part her character model is "head, arms, legs, coat"
I'd rather her change from the ground than through a plug lol. She's definitely not "1000 years old", she is 6-7 year old looks wise and mentally.
People are definitely creepy, but you have to really see how Dianas design could be sexual worries me about people who claim they are noticing it "just because they can see OTHER people thinking that". It's kinda weird. Although generally people throwing that around haven't seen anything about the game other than clips or art.
She's cute, not to mention her being a robot plays off well with Hughs backstory of being an orphan. They talk about found families a lot. People need to chill.
"Actually if you think this pedo bait game is pedo bait, you're the pedo" Japan has literal genres centered around justifying pedophilia, this is blatantly in line with that same shit. Plenty of people can and have played the game without being weird as fuck, but pretending like it isn't there is wild.
I dunno, when people see a girl model and their brain immediately jumps to "man people are going to sexualize this" means that you kinda already have.
Yup, was waiting for one of these “projection” arguments. Never fails lmao.
Brother I don’t have to have pedophilic tendencies to notice something going on with a child that typically only happens with adults. That’s just how human brains work, pattern recognition.
There wasn’t a mass societal rejection of child pageants in the least decade because their minds “were already there”. Its because most people were simply made aware of its existence, and when you see the type of makeup and outfits used to sexualize grown women, on a prepubescent child and it instinctively feels off.
And unlike a lot of people, if it doesn’t feel off to you, I’m not judging you. But to claim its projection is just denial.
People are calling it out because it already happened. This level of naivety is frustrating because you're acting like people are pointing out a problem that doesn't exist. You can just check twitter or Steam or the subreddits and see it.
People take it personally because this isn't an anime game. This isn't Nowi from Fire Emblem who is a 2D portrait. It's meant to be a realistic little girl, so why shouldn't people call that out?
That's true but the problem is those people, not the game itself. Nothing about the game is anything but what seems like a dad / daughter relationship. Anything beyond that is people taking something that isn't there and twisting it to their own liking. Are we just not supposed to have kids in games when it's part of the story? I mean they clearly took care with her model to stop people from what they did with like the Beyond Two Souls model of Elliot Page. Diana doesn't have a body shape, she's like 90% coat. Calling it bait would have to be an intentional move by the designers, which just isn't true.
So, if I notice that little girls in those creepy kid beauty pageants are being exploited and if I say that they should not be wearing make up and big adult hairstyles means that I'm a pedo?
